The Den — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Absolutely horrendous service. I decided to (try to) eat here on the last day of my hotel stay, purely for the convenience, despite the many poor reviews I had already read. Unfortunately, they were accurate.

I was seated almost immediately, which seemed promising, but that’s where the positives ended. I sat with a menu for over 15 minutes and was never acknowledged, let alone offered a drink or asked for my order. I eventually left without ever receiving any service.

What prompted me to leave was seeing other customers, three at a nearby table, visibly frustrated and also preparing to walk out. When I first sat down, I had noticed another couple leave without ordering, which now makes sense.

The restaurant was far from busy, with maybe 5-7 tables occupied. Yet, the staff weren’t doing anything. The male host who seated me aimlessly wandered between the bar and the kitchen, at one point eating off a plate, which I can only assume was food that had been returned because it was incorrect.

The only interaction I had was with a server who finally came over after watching several guests leave, clearly realizing something was wrong but still taking no real action.

Prices are also severely inflated for the quality of food I saw come out of the kitchen, and clearly the service doesn’t justify it.

Avoid this place at all costs. I wouldn’t recommend...

I ate here with a group of colleagues after a meeting in the hotel, and strongly recommend trying to find somewhere else to eat if at all possible. The food was average, the wine selection was poor (we were told that we only had a choice of one red and one white wine, both of which were of below average quality), and the service was awful. It took more than 2.5 hours for our main courses to arrive, and after 3 hours I gave up waiting for dessert. During that time, many other customers arrived, were served and left. Repeated requests for service was met with poor excuses about a small kitchen and a large group that arrived at about the same time we did. I am surprised at how terrible the restaurant is in this otherwise acceptable hotel. So unless you are stuck, you should try to find somewhere...

I agree with the most of negative feedbacks For unknown reason, it took more about 1hr to serve a soup and chicken curry .. I had a dinner with a group of colleagues and this happened to few of us, one person was served twice, first time after 1hr of waiting and the second time with the same order by mistake after 1,5hrs The staff here is very friendly but some are very disorganised It was pretty busy but not fully loaded.
