If you start a restaurant then I assume you like and care about hospitality. However, this restaurant really lacks that love for hosting guests. After a first medium experience at this restaurant, we gave them a second change as we’re big Greece and Greek food lovers.
However, at the second time we visited this restaurant, the waiter that seemed to be the manager was unfriendly welcoming us. The more friendly guy who helped us the first time wasn’t there this night. A discussion about our preferred table might have set the tone but due to bright lightning and because of the high traffic position of the initial offered table we asked if it was possible to sit at a more quiet and calm area of the restaurant, although this was still very close to the kitchen. With visible reluctance he would let us sit at our preferred table but when we felt this wasn’t helping the service level we decided to move to his suggested table.
The cold retsina wine comes by the bottle but when we asked for an extra glass, when our other guest arrived, we received a warm glass that just got out of the dishwasher. With a very short and cold message we were told that the menu was visible via a small QR-code at the candlelight holder, no further explanation was given about the menu.
Luckily, the order was taken by a different waitress who showed a bit more friendliness and patience but no more than the minimum (at first, later on we had a nice chat with her).
The Briam and the Moussaka really missed the fine and specific flavour that you would expect in every regular Greek kitchen, instead it was bland. The marinated chicken breast of Euro 19,50 seemed to be okay, but it doesn’t come as a plate, so fries must be ordered as extra.
At the end of the night at 22.15 (the restaurant closes at 23.00 hours) we wanted to finish the night with coffee and a desert, but we were told that the coffee machine was already switched off (although this was hard to believe as all the lights of the machine where still on). When I explained my surprise about a switched off coffee machine in a restaurant at a Thursday night the waitresses came back from the kitchen to tell us that she could make a us a Turkish coffee instead. Overall, we missed the atmosphere and friendliness that we normally experience in most of the Greek restaurants we have visited on many of our Greek trips. So, for us this was the last time we have visited...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place 5 stars because of amazing recommendations. But the pictures are misleading. What you order in the menu has nothing to do with what you recieve. Prices are crazy high for what you get. The starters are fine, but not for those portions. The rest of the mains are simply made of meat on the dish with NOT EVEN Tzatziki but mayo on the side. All rounded up to 20 euros. My friend ordered pork chops and got pork belly from Ah cooked…. The owner in the end removed it from the bill, due to our compliant. which was the only nice interaction in the whole place. Im hoping the chef was gone and there was a stand in, because i dont know how else to justify it.
The service is horrible, noone caters to your table AT ALL, you have to get their attention for a long time before they show up again. And very unprofessional, with ordering or remembering the correct order.
Also they price starter bar food as main dishes. The only people satisfied by that are probably the Americans and people who have never eaten greek food.
Speaking of Americans, (unrelated to the restaurant) there was a table of INSANELY LOUD crowd laughing obnoxiously the entire time making it impossible to even hear my friends on my table. When asked to maybe be a bit quiet we were met with rude passive looks and comments Which is crazy thinking they were acting as if they have never been outside their house before. i hope they read the review as well, —-next time please talk to my face and respect public spaces and act normal. The audacity of causing literal acoustic pollution and having an attitude. Make...
Read moreVery disappointed in this place. reccomdations were good, my friend has been here before and liked it(not anymore) so we decided to give it a try. When we wanted to order they told us the the menu was updated, so you would expect some elevation of dishes, but unfortunately elavation applies only to the prices while everything else is just worse. What we wanted to order was not on the new menu anymore, so we decided to order beef patties instead, which was supposed to also have tzatziki as it was mentioned on the new menu. But the plate came looking very meager and without tzatziki. When we asked about it, the waiter said that, our menu is updated but it has some "mistakes". Well, if you're telling us that we cannot order from old menu and then please give us the menu with correct description- cause people read menus and order based on description?! When we asked if they will bring us the tzatziki or not, the waiter hesitantly said that they need to check if it's possible or not... how this can be so complicated...it's made in batches and takes you nothing to correct your faulty menu. Finally, we were given a measley portion consisting of 2 spoons of tzatziki for both us. What makes this experience even worse that this plate of 2 meat patties and 3 slices of tomato with few bits of onion is 20 euros... Unbelievable scam. I have been to many Greek restaurants, but none ever left such a bad impression on me. Mediocre food, insane price for laughable plate and poor service....
