Trattoria That's Amore — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I didn't LOVE it. But it is excellent. I think I need to go back just to take photos of the food Apart from the fact that we were first placed right next to another couple in a very small space when there were other 2 person tables available (with space between them). The service was outstanding We had the mixed starter for 2 people. I even had a little bit of the veal! The carbonara was one if not the best I have ever had. We were satisfied after the starter but really wanted to give the carbonara a shot. The shared portion (beautifully served in 2 dishes) was bigger, better and cheaper than I was served in 2 other Italian restaurants on the same street!

The mixed Mezze was really good value at just under €17pp. It had the best caponata (I don't usually like it), proper pokey rucola, the artichokes were amazing, my companion had never had a better burrata (finally realised what 'they're' on about) as well as 3 kinds of meat and a hard cheese

This was my first time dining here and it will be my last. We ordered a salad, a grilled octopus starter, and a pizza. I asked my server a question about the wine menu and she said she did not know, walked away, and did not come back.The salad and octopus were to come first. They were both very average. We waited forever for our pizza. It was obvious they forgot to put the order in on time, but decided not to own up to it when I asked. While waiting for the pizza a man came up and asked us what our question was about the wine....it had been at least 30 min since we had asked our server about it. The pizza came and was average at best. There was not enough cheese and it was a bit sloppy. The crust was good. We did not finish the pizza. The restroom resembled a dungeon. To be brutally honest, this is the worst restaurant and worst service I have experienced in Amsterdam. This is my 3rd visit in a span of 6 years. Please, take your business a few blocks...

Great location to where we were staying, great atmosphere and lovely staff. We arrived without a booking, had to wait a little but it was nice weather so sat outside and had drinks. We are five with two young adults. We had bread and olives to start and then all five of us had something different, all the meals were delicious, really well cooked, nice firm pasta and great sauces. The Rose wine is delicious and they had a good range of beers. The staff were very accommodating, they were fast and the food was fresh. We were not rushed, but we were well looked after.
