We visited Villa Nieuwmarkt last week and couldn’t be happier with our choice. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere captivated us: soft music, cozy lighting, and modern decor that invites you to stay.

The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made us feel welcome and recommended some dishes and drinks that turned out to be amazing. The food was delicious; we ordered a variety of options, including the kipsaté, which was absolutely spectacular. The ingredients were fresh, and every dish was beautifully presented.

The selection of beers and alcoholic beverages was excellent, perfect to accompany the meal or simply enjoy with good company.

It was truly unfortunate. Busy place, full bar, which was great for business. Unfortunately the server got us our drinks after a long wait, serving other tables. Finally when we motioned to her to please give us service after watching her seat and serve other people, she told motioned us to shhh and kept going on with her slow saunter. After another 10 minutes, and her never apologizing or even communicating, we left our money on the table and walked out. I don’t write reviews but this place really left a sour taste in our mouth. All was good with the service and atmosphere until after midnight when the owner arrived and charged us an extra €72. The bill was for drinks our group had either already paid for or hadn’t even ordered. Despite showing our debits from online banking and even her own barstaff telling her we’d been paying per round the whole evening, she persisted with her ridiculous claim that implied two people had downed 14 beers in their first round.
