During my recent visit to Amsterdam, I came across a lovely café called YUSU, a favorite spot for lovers of specialty coffee and gourmet desserts. I was looking for a quiet place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a comfortable sitting area, and my visit to this café was a wonderful experience by all standards.
I ordered a flat white, and it was exceptional in its balance of milk and coffee, demonstrating the barista's expertise and attention to detail. What attracted me most was the variety of cakes. I tried the chocolate and matcha cakes, and they were truly beyond expectations. The matcha cake was soft and rich in flavor with a perfect balance of sweetness, while the chocolate cake was wonderful with its soft texture and intense flavor.
The place offers elegant indoor seating with a modern and calming décor, as well as pleasant outdoor seating for those who prefer to enjoy the fresh atmosphere of Amsterdam. What I also loved was the general relaxed atmosphere, making you feel like you're in a friendly and comfortable space away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The staff's hospitality was what made my experience even more special. They were extremely friendly and helpful, eager to fulfill orders with a smile and a positive attitude. They asked me for my opinion on the coffee and pastries, and it was clear that they value customer feedback to continually improve their experience.
Honestly, I highly recommend YUSU to anyone visiting Amsterdam looking for high-quality coffee and delicious cakes in a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. I will definitely return on my next visit and look forward to trying more from their...
Read moreYusu was a complete disappointment and I was very excited to try it. The service on a Saturday was chaotic, only one person serving and the rest at the counter... the waitress was confused going around the place with our order. The guy who took the order wasn't very efficient either and took some time to understand our simple order of vegan cheese. However, he did want to make sure we had a table. The atmosphere was too busy and loud. Something they should really consider is not allowing the use of laptops during the weekend - like many other cafés do. It's just so discomforting to see people chilling with their empty drinks from over an hour ago while you're standing on the queue not really sure where you'll end up sitting because there's no free tables left. Outside there's some tables but pigeons seem to own it all and the fly very low, eat on the dirty tables... About the food: their fig cheesecake is very refreshing with a lovely taste of lemon in the cheesecake and nice biscuit base. Their sambos are a disappointment, though. We ordered the fig sambo and only had two slices, tasted everything else but the fig... very poor... did the cheesecake get all the figs? Their oat latte is too big and the oat milk is overpowering. The foam on top was very airy and bubbly not silky like good baristas do... I won't be running...
Read moreThis is my go-to coffee spot and Iâm here about 2 times a week on average. I work here, I read here, I hang with friends here, and make new friends here too.
Out of every coffee spot Iâve been to in Amsterdam (Iâve been to a lot), this one is at the top of my list for a combination of factors.
The community feeling and really friendly team of baristas is what sets this place apart. More businesses like this should exist in our city. Music is on point, the interiors are inviting, and the coffee delivers every time.
Their ability to create a brand that extends beyond coffee is forward thinking and wildly different from most other coffee spots in the city. Collaborations with locals artists and artisans, parties, book clubs, sports, etc etc. Theyâre building a whole ecosystem where coffee is just the beginning of a larger societal conversation.
Come here if you understand what this place is truly about and why itâs special to many of us. If you...
