Allegra Bistro — Restaurant in Aruba

I feel like the Allegra Bistro was more of a miss than a hit. The service was always friendly but there are times when there are only two other tables yet the service is unbearably slow. The service seems to get worse later in the day. My last dinner meal I spent over 2 hours at a table even though I only had one dish, I eventually had to go to the bar for the check since no one checked in with me for a long time! Another thing to note I ordered the same dish a few days apart and got different variations of the dish. That was very alarming since I expected the same dish 2 days later but there was no consistency, so if you like a dish you might not get it exactly as the 1st time your got it. Despite all this the food was very delicious and why I am giving it 3 stars.

To management please train your staff to check in with EVERY guest at least every 15-20 min. Not being approached for an hour is unacceptable in the restaurant industry. Also dish consistency needs to be there! Nothing more disappointing than getting a different dish...

We were staying at another resort, and thought we would try some other restaurants. Let's try the Marriott. Ask a staff member where the Allegra is (no signs for it)...he doesn't know and has to ask another staff member. LOUD music playing at the restaurant which is really just a poolside bar, we selected the farthest table possible. Ordered drinks...mine was a Jim Beam and Coke. I go to the restroom...ask security where it is...he looks puzzled so I say it again...oh, it's right over there, sir (I didn't stutter). Get back to the table and I'm surprised to see a plastic cup of Coke and a second plastic cup of rum. My wife then relays what the server said when she brought them...I get to mix them however I want because they didn't know how I wanted it. My confusion grows deeper: how I want it?...the formula across the globe is ice, 1 ounce of liquor and cola...if they don't have Jim Beam then just substitute with another bourbon or whiskey...but not...

We sat down as the only people in the entire restaurant. There was a family waiting for their food and had 3 screaming children who were being encouraged by the mother. Instead of asking her to stop the staff simply stood by and did nothing. We then ordered and waited nearly 45 minutes for 4 salads and some fish tacos even though we were the only people there. On top of everything they add 15% automatically… we were never approached by the waitress to tell us it was coming or apologize for the delay. Then two of the salads were supposed to have grilled fish on top which arrived raw. Avoid unless every other restaurant on...
