De Olde Molen — Restaurant in Aruba

I had higher hopes for this place. We were greeted outside the entrance by a lady wiping down tables and seated immediately inside. An older lady came by our table a few minutes later to take our drink order and seemed rushed to take our food order. We asked a couple questions and needed more time to decide. The lady seemed annoyed and returned by practically tossing our drinks on our table.

While ordering, I asked for the side of yogurt and banana (printed menu item). I was told they don’t have bananas 🤷🏻‍♀️

Meal arrived, no yogurt either. Lady never returned to our table after plates arrived. We were given a wooden clog with the bill before finishing our meal by another employee, my husband & I shrugged, paid and exited.

Was looking for more of a highlight meal, maybe just an off day. It wasn’t busy, interior was quiet other than the hum of conversation around us, little atmosphere, no explanation of various syrups on table for the true Dutch experience. I guess we were expecting too much after reading the articles about the new owners and their ‘passion’ for keeping the placing running, in the end, just wasn’t worth the trip and the meal...

Food was fresh and very tasty and affordable considering food is expensive here! We were a party of 5. One meal was forgotten about so we waited a while to eat unfortunately. Interesting atmosphere. Very random. We were confused as far as service goes. One woman sat us, one took our drink order, another came with water and an older woman took our food order. Maybe that’s why something was forgotten at...

They didn’t give me what I asked for. I ordered chicken breast white rice, no fries, with shrimp. They gave me fries anyway ,a salad, chicken with shredded cheese, and NO SHRIMP!!!!. Sticky white rice, fried chicken it wasn’t seasoned. Sauces are mid. I assume they have good reviews because people be drunk.the people who work there were nice do 2 stars for that. Half star...
