This place was absolutely terrible - start to finish. We spent $200+ for beyond lackluster meal and horrendous service. If your from the states, this is like a mix between Catch, Tao & KYU - but even more overpriced and SUCH annoying service. We felt a little tourist trapped because our hotel strongly recommended this place, but it's definitely because the concierge knew the owner (I should have known when he called on his cell to get us a "reservation"...). Our service actually sealed the deal for us - we left early because we were so annoyed by our server who literally side hustled us as soon as I told him we just got engaged. He kept telling us we needed to slow down, or to "wait/hold off" from ordering certain things so "we could enjoy our evening". Which is really queue for, the kitchen is super backed up. We told our hotel & management to put the restaurant at a do-not recommend list because it was by far the worst meal we had throughout our 7 days in Aruba and it's not fair to send people here if the food really isn't good.
The only thing we semi-enjoyed was the Mr. Miagi Roll. The tuna was so fishy we went it back - hilariously, the server then made a big deal that he would do us a favor by taking it off the bill (LOL). We then told him he could send something else, so ofc he upsold us on the trio, which was even worse than the fishy tuna we ordered. The french onion dumplings were inedible. Sour cream and onion mush (we ate 1 of 6 dumplings and our server didn't seem to think - hmmm, maybe I should ask if they enjoyed that!).
The only positive: the drinks were actually very good - so I'd go back for a drink if forced. They have a lychee grapefruit drink that's very similar to KYU's pink puppy (Miami in the house!).
If you're looking for a great restaurant in this area Aqua Grill is fantastic (next door) and so is Lucca! Bohemian is a couple blocks away & we heard that was also really good. Do not make the same mistake we did - avoid this place...
Read moreBy far the worst experience of any restaurant in Aruba. Been to Aruba over 8 times and this is an absolute Zero star! Showed up and was told the only thing on the menu without dairy was the steaks. When I asked which steaks were on the menu waiter showed me one steak, short ribs, and ribs that had butter lettuce..to which he said he could give me un buttered lettuce??? I ordered the short ribs and waiter said no sides could be made without butter smh gave me white sushi rice. My wife ordered sashimi. My short ribs came to the table after 30 minutes I asked for the manager as my wife’s food was still not there…ridiculous. I tried the cold short ribs at this point and flavorless and tough. I told the manager to cancel the rest of the food and remove my uneaten food from the bill. I said I would pay for the kids fish sticks my son ate two of and the seltzers and one appetizer my wife had. Honestly at this point the manager should have just apologized and told me not to worry about it. I have never asked for the manager and cancelled the order before. The unapologetic waiter brought a bill and a credit card machine to charge me $61 dollars! I will never come to Brutto again! Overpriced bland food, horrible waiter, mgr was pleasant but should’ve waived as she already knew that it was ridiculous my wife had no food. Save yourself the bad experience and bad food as the island has so many great...
Read moreI cannot begin to explain how amazing this place is. Located in the center of all the high rise hotels in between McDonalds and Sand Bar, not only does it look fancy, THEY ARE FANCY. My very first visit here, I had the Sunday brunch. Where do I even start! I always had this particular pet peeve. I am a heavy drinker of water and if I don't have my water filled up, it sorta ticks me. Well, they had A DEDICATED WATERBOY. This guy made it his mission that every single glass was filled constantly. To be completely honest, it wasn't just water glasses. All the glasses were filled. The brunch was from 11am to 4pm and we definitely went here for the whole thing. I tried about 60% of what was on the brunch menu and everything was AMAZING. Even the presentation of each dish. They say you eat first with your eyes and my eyes were in love. Each dish got better than the last and the endless mimosas made the whole experience even better. Just looking at the menu got me excited and the best part is, it's all included in the $40+25$=$65 for the brunch and endless mimosa/prosecco/third drink. I can say with 100% certainty that I will be revisiting this place over and over again for this amazing experience. It was well worth every penny. Hats off to the entire staff and the owners for theis masterpiece. I would dare say this has been the best brunch on the...
