Spice, Sizzle, and Stellar Service: My Tandoor Experience in Aruba!
Craving authentic Indian food in Aruba? Look no further than Tandoor The Indian Grill House in Palm Beach! This gem boasts beautiful decor, attentive staff, and a well-organized space that sets the stage for a fantastic dining experience.
What I loved:
Extensive menu: From North Indian classics to fresh seafood, there's something for everyone. And for gluten-free friends like me, the clearly labeled menu and knowledgeable staff were a dream!
Flavorful delights: The Dal Makhani was simply divine, and the chicken tikka masala was bursting with spices. Special shoutout to the staff for helping me navigate spice levels - their "mild" is closer to medium elsewhere, so be warned!
Impeccable service: The staff was attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure our enjoyment.
Fair pricing: Considering Aruba's standards, the cost was reasonable and reflected the quality of the experience. Room for improvement:
Sizzling sizzle: While the photos of sizzling tandoori dishes online were tempting, ours arrived lukewarm despite their advertised arrival with a flourish. A little more sizzle would have elevated the experience.
Flavorful fish tikka: Though good, the fish tikka could have benefited from a bolder punch of flavor.
Overall:
Tandoor offers a delicious escape into the world of Indian cuisine with a comfortable ambiance and excellent service. While a couple of dishes could use a touch more heat, the overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend it for a memorable and flavorful...
Read moreARUBA!!!! Stayed at RIU Palace!!! Wanted some Indian food with the group I was with, decided to try Tandoor The Indian Grill House. A very short 7 min walk from RIU Palace. Located upstairs. No one was a the restaurant at 6:00 pm. We didn’t have reservations but the hostess was hesitant to give us a table. We had said there is NO ONE HERE!!! Then they huddled together and said okay we will make an exception and give us a table. Like they were going out of their way.
We ordered tandoori chicken whole, paneer Makhanwalla, naan, roti, onions and mango lassi. Wanted rice with meal, the waitress said it was going to be extra. So we huddled and decided yes get us rice.
Service with a semi smile. Everyone was free not much to do since we were the only ones in the restaurant. After about 40 minutes another table was taken. We left in about a hour and half. When we left around 7:30 pm about two thirds of the restaurant was empty so didn’t make much sense when the hostess said do we have a reservation.
They forced us to tip them. The waitress said the 10% service charge doesn’t go to the staff. Then she said 5% goes to management and 5% goes to staff. We were going to tip but being force to tip was a bit of a turnoff. Total was around $125.00
Overall it’s a ok to good restaurant, but there are SO MANY OPTIONS. So if you think you’ll die without having Indian food then go here, otherwise try all the other restaurants...
Read moreThis place was INCREDIBLE. I haven't had a good Indian in a while however this place truly hit the spot. The flavour, spice and service were all amazing.
My partner and I were seated as soon as we walked in and were given a choice between inside or outside. If you are wanting a quiet evening, sit inside, however we chose outside where you can look down on the street as well as hear the music from a nearby bar. I really enjoyed the atmosphere on their balcony and would recommend.
Soon after our drinks arrived, we were given Poppadoms as an included starter. We even requested mango chutney for our poppadoms which was brought out immediately. As an additional starter we ordered Samosas. This was my first time trying them so I have no reference, however they were really good, maybe I just love potatoes...lol
For our mains I had a Paneer dish(extra spicy) and my partner had a Tikka Masala(medium). Naturally, we had it with rice and naan! Mine was perfect, the spice burned my mouth perfectly and the naan was there to help cool me down! My partner enjoyed hers very much too, however it was a little spicy for her, she said next time she would get mild.
We had a great time and if you are in Aruba craving an Indian, please give Tandoor a try, it...
