We ate really delicious seasoned Soul Food, I had the chicken wings, Mac n cheese and greens,y husband had the chicken with sweet potato Waffles and Mac n Cheese. I had planned to have the jerk oxtail but it was so popular they'd run out, so you must get there early for their Sunday Soul food Lunch. The owner was really friendly and took her time to talk to everyone. The only negative was at that particular time there was a staff shortage issue so there was a little delay but we were grateful that we were always kept informed and service was done with a smile and a joke. My husband and I were lucky enough to preview the debut of the Sweet potato cheesecake Dessert which we both loved. It's an absolute must try and a generous portion is given too. All in all it was a lovely tasty way to spend Sunday afternoon and we plan to go again.
The company still run their food truck but we ate at their restaurant, The seating is outside, You have the option of take out...
Read moreSo we came many miles to try this place for ourselves. The Good: Bartender made a simple be good drink. The one wait staff person did her best to wait on for or five table at the same time. The Bad: i ordered the chicken & waffles after finding out the several things they didn’t have at dinner time on Wednesday. Almost an hour later, my cold waffle and hot chicken was served. The owner or cook brought the food out and asked if there is anything else we needed. Yes, more syrup please; the 1 oz provided is not going to be enough. When she came back with a thimble full of additional syrup, I ask for more and was told she would have to charge me; WTH!! After making my way through the dry waffle, I can hear the table next to me complaining about something. Check came, but the side of Greens & Cornbread never did. It’s easy to see why this spot was the least busy spot on a busy street with many food options....
Read moreThe food is real deal Southern cooking!!! The fried chicken (smackin)candied yams were out the park (smackin), greens (bomb), potatoes and green beans (bomb) and the oxtail also (smackin)!!! Definitely would suggest to eat here for sure!!! When on vaca I typically eat mostly local food and cuisine from the island but honestly that’s what I kinda love about Curacao there is great local food and also great other food choices!! It’s kinda a foodie town for sure!! Coulda used some sweet tea or some of the local oregano punch but the lemonade was good. Better than most the soul food spots I’ve had in the Bay Area Cali. This is legit certified southern soul food!! Might want to take a nap on the beach...
