From the moment we stepped into Mood Restaurant in Curacao, we were swept off our feet by its vibrant ambiance, captivating music, and culinary delights. It's a place where every detail contributes to a unique dining experience, setting it apart from anywhere else we've visited on the island.
The food was nothing short of spectacular, with a variety of flavors that cater to every palate. A standout for us was the fried oysters — a must-try for anyone visiting Mood. They were perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy and flavorful on the inside, showcasing the chef's skill and the restaurant's commitment to quality.
However, what truly sets Mood apart is not just its atmosphere or its cuisine, but the people who bring the place to life. Among them, Roxy, a petite lady with stylish glasses and impeccably dressed, left an indelible mark on our experience. She was everywhere, tirelessly working to ensure that both the staff and patrons were well taken care of. Her smile and personal touch added a warm, welcoming vibe to our evening, making us feel truly special.
Roxy's energy and dedication were palpable. Always on her feet, she moved with purpose and grace, her leadership skills shining through in every interaction. Her attention to detail did not go unnoticed, making our dining experience seamless and memorable. It's rare to encounter someone so committed and passionate about their work, and Roxy is undoubtedly a significant asset to Mood Restaurant.
Her presence elevates the dining experience, making a visit to Mood not just a meal, but a memorable event. It's clear that Roxi's hard work and leadership contribute greatly to the establishment's success, leaving guests eagerly anticipating their next visit.
In conclusion, Mood Restaurant is a must-visit in Curacao for its great ambiance, exceptional food, and the unforgettable experience provided by its outstanding staff, especially Roxi. Whether you're a local or a traveler, make sure to add this gem...
Read moreWhere do I begin? We are frequent visitors of Curacao and own a home on the island. We have visited Mood no less than 10 times for lunches/brunches/dinners and to “enjoy” the beach service. The ONLY thing that has kept us coming back is the proximity to the water, and the fact we can take our boat there. Other than that, there is nothing positive that I can say. I have remained optimistic time and again that the service would get better, but after today, feel that all hope is lost, and we will no longer be able to go back. The service is literally non-existent. No one greets you, once you are finally able to find someone and get seated, no menus are left, no acknowledgement that you are a customer. After 10-15 minutes, we were asked if we wanted water. There was only one other table with 2 people at the time, and at least 3-4 wait staff leaning against the bar texting on their phones and chatting. After another 15 minutes, my husband got up to go get water for us. The same issues occurred, with drinks as well. My salad with tuna was subpar at best (3 olives total, watery dressing, tuna wasn’t grilled evenly). No one ever came to ask how the food was after it was delivered. I had to get up and find pepper, no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks, and we had to get up and ask for the check, etc. The entire visit lasted almost two hours and should have taken 30-45 minutes. This is on par with almost every other visit. Between the beach staff ignoring you, despite paying $120 for two chairs, or the restaurant staff “forgetting” you ordered drinks, there is always a serious level of neglect. It’s such a shame that such a beautiful setting with so much potential continues to go downhill due to mismanagement, laziness, and an overall lack of concern or care for customer service, or...
Read moreWhile the food ultimately impressed, our dining experience was marred by several issues that impacted the overall enjoyment. Upon arrival, it took a considerable amount of time before anyone greeted us, so we ended up walking to the restaurant ourselves. Once seated, we noticed the chairs lacked proper cushions, making the seating uncomfortable. We were provided with additional cushions for our backs, but this felt like a makeshift solution.
Service throughout the evening was slow. We had to ask for our red wine again after it was initially forgotten, and there was some confusion when staff attempted to pour it into the wrong glasses. Additionally, the wine bottle had visible mold on its label, which was off-putting.
A particularly unfortunate incident occurred when some food was accidentally dropped on my partner. While the staff offered a complimentary drink or dessert as an apology, we felt this gesture did not adequately address the situation, especially given the stain on my partner's blouse. After some discussion, a more appropriate resolution was eventually reached.
On a positive note, the main course was exceptional—one of the best dishes I’ve had in recent memory—and the scroppino was also a standout. It’s clear that the kitchen knows what it’s doing.
In terms of areas for improvement, I would recommend faster drink service, a better selection of appropriate wine glasses, and a more welcoming approach to guests upon arrival. Despite the setbacks, the quality of the food did redeem the experience to...
