Bonita Beach Club Curaçao — Restaurant in Curaçao

Came for a lunch, and our waiter probably had a bad day. We wanted to get one more chair that wasn’t used by neighbors table and got yelled in front of all the guest. We came with two little kids, and the last thing we wanted is to argue with her, but the the lady was keep teaching us clients how we should behave when we come to the restaurant. And this is loud and in front of other clients. That was extremely unacceptable and unprofessional. We left the place because we couldn’t handle it anymore. We asked for different waiter , but she said that she will not give us different one. Same we asked if we can see the manager, and she started yelling even more. We came from Canada and this is not the way the clients are treated there. Usually everyone is soooo polite and helpful. That happened on Mar 30, 2023 lunch time. We ordered 5 drinks and after 20 mins, still no drinks. We asked the waitress where our drinks were, whilst she was chatting to other customers, she said sorry I'll get them now clearly she had forgot. Another 10 mins we asked again, she said she will get them now. 5 mins later whilst serving a table next to us and still no drinks, she said tbf someone took our drinks to the sound table another 5 mins later we had our drinks, in total it was over half an hour wait for our drinks. My family and I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a delicious lunch at Bonita’s last week. Martin/Marten was our server and he was an absolute delight! He walked us through the menu and explained some of the local fare which we had not yet heard of. He was kind, exuberant, and funny! It’s not easy getting slammed with tourists day after day, but you’d never guess that if you had him as your server. His positive energy made us fall even more in love with the island than we already had! If you’re planning to stop at Bonitas, the chicken curry was AHmazing, and Marten was a breath of fresh air.
