Athena's Olive — Restaurant in Delft

Turist rehberi olarak görev yaptığım 7 kişilik bir misafir grubumla birlikte bu restorana geldik. Ancak karşılaştığımız hizmet anlayışı son derece rahatsız ediciydi.

Garson olarak çalışan beyefendi, daha önce Rotterdam’da bir restoran işletmiş biriymiş; ancak misafirlere karşı tutumu oldukça kaba ve küstahtı. Nezaketten uzak davranışları, hem beni hem de misafirlerimi fazlasıyla kırdı ve kızdırdı.

Üstelik grubumuzda reflü rahatsızlığı olan bir misafirimiz vardı ve yemek seçiminde hassas davranmamız gerekiyordu. Bu konuda yardımcı olmalarını rica etmemize rağmen, bırakın anlayış göstermeyi, sanki mutfağı tanımıyor gibiydiler. Ne yemeklerin içeriği hakkında bilgi verebildiler ne de herhangi bir alternatif sundular.

Nazikçe uyarmama rağmen, garsonun “Bir daha gelmeyin” demesi ise bu mekânın müşteri memnuniyetine ne kadar uzak olduğunu açıkça ortaya koydu.

Yemeklerin tadı hakkında yorum yapamıyorum çünkü bu tavırlar nedeniyle sipariş bile vermedik. Ancak bir işletmede en az yemek kadar önemli olan şeyin, misafire gösterilen saygı ve ilgidir.

Davranış problemi olan böyle bir işletmeyi asla tavsiye etmem.

Als toeristengids bracht ik een groep van 7 gasten naar dit restaurant. Helaas was de service ronduit teleurstellend.

De ober, naar verluidt een voormalige restauranteigenaar uit Rotterdam, gedroeg zich buitengewoon onbeleefd en arrogant tegenover mij en mijn gasten. Zijn gebrek aan respect en klantvriendelijkheid was schokkend.

Bovendien had één van onze gasten last van reflux en we probeerden hier bij het bestellen rekening mee te houden. Toen we om informatie vroegen over de gerechten of mogelijke alternatieven, kregen we geen enkele hulp – het leek alsof ze hun eigen keuken niet kenden.

Toen ik de ober beleefd op zijn houding wees, reageerde hij met de woorden: “Kom dan maar niet meer terug.” Zo’n reactie is onacceptabel in de horeca.

Over het eten zelf kan ik niets zeggen, want door deze behandeling hebben we niet besteld. Maar klantvriendelijkheid is minstens zo belangrijk als de kwaliteit van het eten.

Ik raad deze zaak absoluut niet aan.

As a tourist guide, I brought a group of 7 guests to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing.

The waiter, who apparently used to run a restaurant in Rotterdam, behaved very rudely and arrogantly toward both myself and my guests. His lack of courtesy and professionalism was shocking.

One of our guests suffers from acid reflux, so we were trying to be careful about the food. We asked for information about the dishes or alternatives, but received no help at all — it felt like they didn’t even know their own kitchen.

When I politely addressed the waiter’s behavior, he replied, “Then don’t come back.” Such a response is completely unacceptable in hospitality.

I can’t comment on the food quality, as we didn’t even place an order due to the treatment we received. However, respect and kindness are just as important as the food itself.

I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Ως ξεναγός, πήγα μια ομάδα 7 ατόμων σε αυτό το εστιατόριο. Δυστυχώς, η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν εξαιρετικά απογοητευτική.

Ο σερβιτόρος, που φέρεται να είχε προηγουμένως δικό του εστιατόριο στο Ρότερνταμ, φέρθηκε με αγένεια και αλαζονεία σε εμένα και στους καλεσμένους μου. Η έλλειψη ευγένειας και επαγγελματισμού ήταν σοκαριστική.

Ένα από τα άτομα της ομάδας έχει πρόβλημα με γαστροοισοφαγική παλινδρόμηση, οπότε ήμασταν ιδιαίτερα προσεκτικοί με το φαγητό. Ζητήσαμε πληροφορίες για τα πιάτα ή εναλλακτικές επιλογές, αλλά δεν υπήρξε καμία βοήθεια – ήταν σαν να μην γνώριζαν καθόλου την κουζίνα τους.

Όταν επεσήμανα ευγενικά τη συμπεριφορά του σερβιτόρου, απάντησε: «Τότε να μην ξανάρθετε». Μια τέτοια απάντηση είναι απαράδεκτη στον χώρο της φιλοξενίας.

Δεν μπορώ να σχολιάσω την ποιότητα του φαγητού, καθώς δεν παραγγείλαμε τίποτα λόγω αυτής της συμπεριφοράς. Ωστόσο, ο σεβασμός και η ευγένεια είναι εξίσου σημαντικά με το ίδιο το φαγητό.

If you’re looking for an authentic Greek dining experience in Delft, Athena’ Olive is a fantastic choice. From the moment you step inside, the warm atmosphere and traditional decor transport you straight to the Mediterranean. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making you feel like a valued guest.

The menu offers a great selection of Greek classics, from freshly grilled souvlaki and moussaka to delicious mezze platters. The ingredients taste fresh, and the flavors are well-balanced, capturing the essence of Greek cuisine. The tzatziki is creamy and tangy, and the seafood options are excellent. Ouzo was offered to us as a welcoming gift.

Portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or on a romantic evening out, this restaurant is a wonderful choice. Don’t forget to end your meal with a piece of baklava or ice cream with vanilla !

Highly recommended for anyone craving a taste of Greece in the heart of Delft. I’ll definitely...

The restaurants atmosphere and decoration are outstanding, unfortunately certain aspects of the restaurant are major defaults, and cannot be overlooked! For starters the staff working are not very attentive to it's customers and the time to prepare even the starters is extremely long. They seem more focused in overpriced drinks (the house wine is also very bad). Furthermore the staff also takes it upon themselves to take outdoor breaks during dinner (nearly all the waiters). Lastly the food was too expensive for what it tasted and presented itself. And its inadmissible the problems and little maintenance of the kitchen.
