Bombina — Restaurant in Delft

My wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law are traveling from the US. We ate lunch at Bombina earlier today. In one simple word, it was "perfect." The food and desserts were so delicious. I had the Bulgar salad with lemon vinaigrette and it was the best salad I've ever eaten. We also ate eggplant lasagna, fried chicken sandwich and a chicken salad. All of the dishes were wonderful. Then, we had dessert. We shared rice pudding, carrot cake, lemon poppy seed cake and cheesecake. They were all phenomenal but the rice pudding was the best we've ever tasted. It was creamy and tasted so good but the ultimate was that it had a Creme Brulee top with cinnamon to finish the masterpiece. The carrot cake was the perfect mix of icing and cake and the lemon poppy seed cake was so fresh and light. Lastly, the cheesecake was light and velvety smooth. All of the food was well presented and the service was exceptional. We recommend this restaurant...

PARENTS…take note! After a really bad experience at another place in Delft today, I want to express how grateful I am to Bombina for being exceptional. I’ve been 5 times now with my 2 children who are under 5, and every time the staff have been incredibly kind and hospitable to me and my young children, served delicious food, and the place itself is clean and welcoming. Most of all, the servers are helpful and service-minded, which is so refreshing. Thank you for always greeting us warmly and not being annoyed by my crying baby. Thanks for getting us a high chair and doing small things like smiling at my kids. You may not have a big play room like some other places, but Bombina is the REAL child-friendly cafe in Delft and I will be coming here for...

I love this place but after today was kind of disappointed. I’m going to this place every week and sometimes even more then once in week. I’m happy with food and drinks but today one of the staff spilled a whole mug of boiling water on my legs. Plus I was with my 2 kids and they were around me. So lucky that it was me and not them. The waiter apologized. This happens, I didn't get angry, but I was disappointed by the situation, that the waiters didn't want to resolve the situation and, for example, not include my tea in the bill and make the tea at the house's expense. As a result, I had to pay for my spilled tea, after which my pants were soaking wet and the impression was spoiled. It's a pity, because we come to this place every Saturday...
