Being one of the oldest restaurants in Delft, LEF has become my go to place for good quality French food for good price! The classics, steak tartare, duck confit and steak frites are possibly one of the best in Delft. Their appetizers and starters are also top notch, made from high quality ingredients. The wine and drinks menu is also ok with plenty of options. The staff is super nice and always smiling. Make sure you check out the daily menu before ordering though. And always leave some room for dessert.
In wintertime do try their housemade gluhwein, it's very balanced: not too sweet, not too spicy nor too heavy on the alcohol. Perfect for a Sunday evening when you have to work early the next day.
Overall, the place has a charming and cozy interior, it's perfect for a date night or a chill dinner with friends. Read moreThis was truly a bad experience. We came with our family for dinner, and the restaurant wasn’t busy, yet we had to wait far too long for our food, despite the fact that all of our dishes should have been quick to prepare (3 medium steaks, 1 well-done steak, 1 salmon steak, and snails as a starter). The snails were served quickly, but we waited about an hour for the main courses. When we asked the waitress about our food, she told us it was our fault for ordering the snails first. When the food finally arrived, 3 out of 4 steaks were cooked incorrectly: all three were undercooked, even though one of them was supposed to be well-done. In the end, we had to ask the waitress to cook one steak again and wait for it while being incredibly hungry. The photo shows a well-done steak. Unfortunately, my request to have it cooked well-done was not without reason: undercooked meat makes me feel very nauseous and can sometimes make me vomit. This is...
Read moreNice but olala what cheap scene. We were there for a birthday but it was the night before. They told us “ah if it’s your birthday it’s free for the birthday person” we said naturally, it’s “tomorrow”, and they said “ah then if you come back tomorrow it’s free”. Come on, we spent more than 300eu there, could not even be human for a minute. It was not our plan to get it for free, we did not know about this, but once it was proposed taking it away because of a couple of hours difference was a never seen before...
