If you visit Delft and stay over or eat there we can highly recommend this place. Small word of warning: you cannot pick a dish, they have a surprise menu that may be influenced by allergies and/or possibly by the choice meat/fish. It is also not the cheapest place in Delft but for us totally worth it!
If we would have to name a down side about this place we could only think of the special wines they have, which are good btw but due to the excellent house wine its not worth the extra money in our opinion.
We went for a trial run to determine if we wanted our wedding dinner here and were blown away by the food and hospitality. We loved the concept and left much up to the location in terms of food. 2 weeks in advanced we tested the menu and could not comment on a single thing. I in particular am a picky eater and don’t like fish that much but the 2 white fish dishes they presented to my partner were so good I would have trouble choosing between meat or fish.
Most of our guests were Dutch so if something would not be ok/good we would hear about it after. We received nothing but positive feedback on the food and also heard some guests that wanted to come back to La Tasca. Special thanks to Milan who was extremely helpful, forthcoming and professional during the planning of the event.
To conclude: great place that deserves a visit if you can afford it and are willing to be surprised. We also advise to...
Read moreReally really good, allmost perfect.
I started with the truffle brioche, it was well balanced and matched perfectly with their non-alcoholic gin-tonic and the olives were a pleasant surprise.
Then i had the red onion tarte tatin, loved the presentation and the champagne foam put a smile on my face. what i missed though was the carmelized sweetness and snap i'd expect from a tarte tatin, It felt somewhat stale. the dish was masterfully dressed but the base was dissapointing.
After this the pasta cappellacci blew me away, striking a perfect balance between the smooth richness of the filling and the tart saltiness of the sauce. really everything about it was wonderfull!
My main course was venison and red cabbage, the venison was not as visually pleasing but the taste was superb. Maybe a quick pass with a torch would elevate the presentation? The red cabbage had a lovely dept of flavour and intensity.
dinner was great and the non-alcoholic options were good and plenty. The coffee was not on the same level as the...
Read moreWe had a 3-course Chef's dinner at La Tasca as small group (3 people) and really enjoyed our meal. We got to try the seabass tartare with saffron oil and pea mousse (starter), porcini soup with lima beans served with bread (second-course), beetroot mille-feuille with chicory and green asparagus (main) and to finish it off, went for the blueberry tartelette with lemon curd and meringue on top. They have a limited but interesting selection of eines by the glass and bottle.
The highlights for me were the beetroot; it was buttery soft and sweet but it could hold its shape and the sweetness was not overpowering, it was just right! And of course, the tartelette. I loved the textural contrast of the meringue with the custard, it goes really well with the sweet and sour taste you get from the lemon curd.
We were very satisfied with the service as well, both our waitresses were very kind and they explained all dishes in detail, they were knowledge. La Tasca offers an elevated dining experience for good value,...
