I announced myself in the waiting area (outside the place) with the staff (Inma was her name - if I understood it correctly) and asked for a table for 6 people. She went inside to check the tables and came back in about 5-6 minutes letting me know I would have to wait for circa half an hour for a table. I asked whether it would be possible to put us in a smaller table or put tables together and she let me know that it would be nevertheless around half an hour. While I was waiting (in the rain), together with my group, people arriving in groups of 2/3, got a table before us. I counted at least 10 people in total. After circa 40 minutes waiting (in the rain) without any update, I approached the staff (Ton) to check whether the table was ready. He informed us in an uncooperative and unempathetic attitude that they will not have a table for us for at least 30 minutes more (best case scenario). We asked why nobody gave us an update on the situation once it became obvious they would miss the initial estimation and we got rude replies as: "I cannot predict the future". We walked away, I have no intention to be served by uneducated and unqualified people to run...
Read moreSuch an amazing brunch spot in Delft! I went on a sunday with my mother. We were immediately approached by a server and told that they would have a table cleared very soon. The wait was about 10 minutes.
Kek serves good coffee with beautiful latte art. The pineapple smoothie was also delicious. What makes Kek stand out the most is the incredible plating of the food, which makes you feel like your eating from an artwork on a plate. The sweet potato cheddar waffles were soft and decadent and definitely my favorite menu item here.
Speaking about the menu, kek offers a great variaty of sweet and savory dishes as well as some delicious sandwiches (definitely recommend the green asperge one) and some vibrant refreshing smoothie bowls. It's also very vegan/ vegetarian-friendly.

If you seat yourself or get seated at the window you have a lovely view of the street and canal of delft. If this is not your thing do not worry Kek has a very nice decor that feels spacious and cozy at the same time.
At time of writing Kek tends to be quite popular for more than just the locals to visit and thus reserving might be a smart thing to do otherwise you run the risk that you might have to wait outside until space opens up. That beings said if this happens staff are quick to come out and give you an indication of when a table...
