Not the worst experience, but certainly a bad one. I usually do not leave reviews but it was certainly appropriate for this occasion. Spice level was inconsistent, food was okay, some dishes not great while others were alright, the food was kind of overpriced and portions were extremely small, I left extremely hungry, even though I got a salad for free since I waited for so long, which was a nice gesture either way. Servers seemed extremely overworked, one in particular talked about their experience and said that it was the most stressful working they have experienced in 10 years of working and that the chefs, even offered us free drinks on the house because they were fed up with it. Atmosphere isn't great, and a bit too warm at times,wifi just doesn't work well because the location is hidden away deep in a basement. I really disliked here, the people I came with said the food, was mediocre I thought it was okay, either way, a bit overpriced, considering the portion size. Vegetarian options are available, as well as a variety of meats, which is a nice plus.

The reviews for this place were pretty good, so I assume people.enjoyed it, so maybe it was just an unfortunate day.

With friends I came to Deventer from Amsterdam and decided to go to this restaurant because of the high reviews. We ordered only one starter, and 3 main dishes and waited 1 hour and 40 minutes!for our main dishes. When I went to the waiter to tell him that we waited so long and still need to travel back all the way to Amsterdam and this is not acceptable, his comment was “usually people spend 3 hours with us so this is not that long but yes there was a mix up in the kitchen”.

Also, you get a small portion of food for 25 euros per person, we did get a little salad from the house for the waiting. But ofcourse left still hungry.

My one friend had mushrooms out of a can, my other friend missed 2 ingredients in his dish.

Ik had graag een positieve recensie geschreven maar toch helaas teleurstellend bezoek.

Afgelopen week hier gegeten en de conclusie: het duurde veel te lang allemaal. En het was er koud. Het leek of er een deur openstond ergens want het was echt niet aangenaam binnen. Als er mensen binnen kwamen kwam er nog een extra koude wind voorbij vliegen.

Hoewel het personeel nog goed bedoeld een salade van het huis gaf omdat het hoofdgerecht zo laat kwam, kon dat het niet echt goed maken. Ook het afruimen duurde oneindig lang, waardoor we uiteindelijk zelf maar hebben gevraagd of we de dessert kaart nog mochten zien. (We hebben denk ik wel ca. 30 minuten met lege borden en lege glazen gewacht tot er iemand zou komen afruimen).

Het eten zelf was ook vrij matig. 1 hoofdgerecht kwam verkeerd, (werd wel binnen 10 minuten opnieuw gemaakt) maar het eten was vrij smakeloos en de rijst niet warm. Personeel had ook moeite met bestellingen opnemen want het drinken kwam ook niet gelijk goed (of vergeten).

2 sterren omdat je zag dat ze het probeerden en vriendelijk waren. Maar het eten en de overall service was niet...
