tl;dr; with respect to atmosphere the rebuilt hasn't done any good, to many people, to much noise, now has the atmosphere of a all-you-can-eat restaurant. The food w.r.t to taste is still very nice and a lot better than an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, but shrinkflation has occurred at this place, unfortunatly.
Went to Mood with my girlfriend and were wondering how it had changed by the rebuilt. Unfortunately, the rebuilt hasn't done the place any good. It has been optimized to seat as many people as possible. The benches is a clear indicator of that. As a result, it also has become very noisy in the complete restaurant. Had to raise my voice sometimes to make myself audible to my girlfriend. Concluding, due to these factors it now feels more as a 'all-you-can-eat' type of restaurant.
We were kindly welcomed and brought to our place. In one of the corners of the restaurant they have an opening, alcove, where you have a very large U-bench with 6 tables positioned to it. The moment we sat down we were already uncomfortable in that position. The tables were so close to each other that you could almost eat out of the plate of your neighbors. Kindly we asked for a different table, luckily this was possible, if not, we would have left.
Since my girlfriend doesn't like Sushi she ate a different cuisine, I requested for a 'mood boat', which is kind of their trademark. In the past they had 'smaller' boats for when you order the dish as 1 person. Nowadays you you get the boat of 2 persons but only with food for 1 person. As such, the boat looks quiet empty. They try to cover it up a bit by spreading the food a bit. But aesthetically it just looks very poor, would recommend Mood to improve this or present the dish differently.
Finally, the 'mood boat' was not as stocked as it used to be, at least to my memory. Shrinkflation has definitely occurred. As such, I ordered some more sushi from the menu card. Note, the food is still very nice, it was just less then it used to be.
For people whom still like the food at Mood, I would recommend to rather go to their location at Strijp-S. I will go their next time and hopefully (fingers-crossed) shrinkflation has hit less hard there...
FYI, I added a picture of the boat I received, 1 tasty sushi was already eaten 😋 before the picture was taken

Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at MOOD, and I cannot praise this place enough. From start to finish, everything was impeccable.
The quality of the food was outstanding. As someone who is pregnant, I requested sushi with no raw fish, and they exceeded my expectations. I was served a beautifully presented sushi boat with a variety of delicious and creative options. The attention to detail was evident in every bite, making it one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had.
The service was absolutely perfect. The waitstaff were professional, incredibly kind, and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure my comfort and satisfaction, taking the time to accommodate my dietary needs with care and creativity.
However, what truly sets this restaurant apart is their kindness and quick action in a moment of crisis. Unfortunately, I fainted after dinner due to low blood sugar. The staff, especially the waitresses, acted immediately with first aid, stayed calm and supportive, and even called an ambulance. Their patience, empathy, and quick thinking made all the difference in what could have been a very frightening situation.
This is not just a place for amazing food but also a place where the people truly care about their guests. I highly recommend it and will definitely return in the future.
Thank you, for an...
Read moreI was surprised that the place was overcrowded. They squeezed as many tables as they can resulting to a not so good experience. If you are seated next to a pathway, expect many bumps as many people will bump at you as they pass by. Place was extra noisy because of no sound absorption materials in the restaurant like carpets or foam walls. Food was ok but too expensive. They placed on the menu sushiboat for 26euro but when i ordered it they asked if it is for one because then it will just be on the PLATE. I mean why place sushiboat if you order one it will just be on the plate? They should place sushiboat for 52euro directly.
I think this is just for one time only visit for me. I dont know about the hype of this place, it was just too noisy and overcrowded and food was so-so and expensive. For the price, they could at least give some space and...
