De Burger — Restaurant in Eindhoven

I’ve been hesitant to share this experience, which happened around 1.5 years ago, but recent attention to my reviews prompted me to finally post. Our small company group of about 30 people chose this restaurant for a team lunch. We’re a very diverse group, representing over 20 nationalities. We were seated at separate tables, and I happened to be with three of my Indian colleagues.

The food was alright, though I’d say it’s on the pricier side for the quality offered. What really dampened the experience, however, was the treatment we received. After our lunch, the person organizing the event went to settle the entire bill for the group, but there was a miscommunication at the counter, and our table wasn’t included in the final total. Not realizing this, we were the first group to leave as we had nearby meetings to return to.

Barely 10 meters outside, we were chased down by a waiter demanding payment for our table, which was understandable. What wasn’t acceptable, however, was the manner in which he addressed us. He shouted at us and used racial slurs in Dutch that were both offensive and unnecessary. Fortunately, a nearby police officer intervened, helping us settle the bill on the spot. But what has stuck with me all this time is the lack of any apology or acknowledgment from the waiter. We would have gladly corrected the error without needing to endure such treatment.

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, especially for groups. It’s unfortunate that such service overshadowed what could have been a positive outing...

We came here because they have the option for gluten free buns and Beyond Meat burger. That is what I ordered. My sister ordered a salmon burger. It took a really long time for everything to come out.. we nearly thought about telling them nevermind. When it finally did come out it was all cold.. which shocked us considering how long we were waiting. And it made the experience immediately not nice. Then there were tiny portion sizes especially considering the price. Mine was a very small burger on a gluten free bun for 11 euros which did not include fries. Everything tasted like it had been frozen.. lacking freshness and dry. And it was all bland and overall mediocre. The salmon burger was with more flavor but the quality was not there. Definitely could have gotten better burgers at Burger King.. and it would have been hot. The fries.. not only were they cold, they were hard and difficult to bite. When I asked for a new one for this reason, they brought me a new one that was then hot, but still hard texture. They then charged me for both fries. My Fuze tea was carried away before I was even finished with it. They did ask me if I wanted another on the house which was nice. And it was nice that they had so many options for people with dietary restrictions, but unfortunately the experience and the food just...

The food My friend and I both ordered the habaneroburger but I added some extra jalapeños. The burger consists of a Hereford beef patty with lollo verde, habanero mayo, mozzarella, peppadews and iberico ham. The patty was perfectly grilled, super juicy and well flavoured. The bun was also very nice: firm on the outside but soft on the inside. That extra splash of Tabasco takes it to another level.

The chili fries with sriracha, crème fraîche and cheese were amazing. Although it can’t beat the Kamikaze fries from The Beef Chief in Amsterdam, it’s definitely worthy of a second place.

I’d certainly recommend this place if you’re craving a good burger.

Service and atmosphere The restaurant had a nice looking bar and the whole set up was very comfortable to look at. The staff was polite and friendly. The service was a little bit slow, however, we waited almost 40 minutes for our burgers while there were only 2 other tables. But maybe they were still starting up because we arrived at 12.30 while they open at 12.00. While it did not really bother us, I’d just like to...
