It’s such a pity to put a review for 1 star after 10 years of visiting this place, however the last behavior we experienced today by one of the waitress is beyod unrecoverable.
We went there 4 person in total (3 adults and one 3 years old to be more precise) to have a nice Saturday breakfast with family and waited in the queue more than 15 minutes as usual due to the policy of this restaurant not to take any reservations upfront. But this was not a problem for us at all and we knew this can be the case after all those years of experience. Still we choose to stay in the line to have our breakfast here. After sitting 1 hours 25 minutes (between 10:15 and 11:40), one of the waitress who served us since we entered the venue came and warned us that this restaurant is not a place that we can sit long time to have slow breakfast. She mentioned about people waiting outside in the queue and askes us to leave as soon as possible. Besides having such a warning in the middle of our breakfast, there were food still we were eating (we were not done with out coffee or dessert yet), she accused us by not knowing the style of this particular place by staying there too long. Despite having other tables occupied as well with no further ordering food or drinks unlike us, apparently that waitress choose us to get rid of us for the sake of waiting new customers in line. Whilst we were being warned in an inappropriate manner by the wordings chosen, few minutes ago we were served desserts and coffee we had ordered, so we had been still eating our food (table with full of stuff in other words). The waitress said we are allowed to finish our food but need to be quick and leave. We had ordered another coffee before she ruined our moment, which we had to return when it arrived to our table because apparently we were not allowed to buy any more food there. We did not accepted this behavior and addressed her our complaint where she started raising her voice towards us. The situation continued around 10-15 min on and off where our Saturday breakfast date with our family was ruine (we also did not accepted to leave before finishing the food we paid quite a decent money for). We will never visit this place again and I am regretting now all the positive referrals I gave so far to my social circle to promote this place. If you want to be in a friendly, relaxed and decent customer oriented behavior; I recommend you prefer some other places over this place. Because you have to pay 20-30€ per person, yet treated as if you came to a fast food restaurant where you must quickly eat your bite and leave.
I am also putting the bill for your reference. Their prices are not quite like a regular cafe or breakfast place in the Netherlands, but a decent restaurant where you can have your dinner in a fancier and friendlier atmosphere.
P. S. We also suggested to this place while adressing our complaint to initiate a policy that they timebox the total time spent per table such as 1 hour, and they said they are never going to do such a thing. Instead, they obviously prefer to treat their customers in such a mean way by asking them to leave although customers keep ordering food during the whole time which means no harm to...
Read moreI have visited Meneer De Boer Breakfast All Day a few times. While the food is excellent, the treatment of solo customers is disappointing.
I’ve been repeatedly asked to move from a relatively bigger table to make room for a couple or a group, even when ordering enough food for two. The staff’s requests, especially from a young lady, were often abrasive and unwelcoming. This practice continued despite my loyalty and substantial orders, making the dining experience very stressful.
While I understand the need to accommodate all customers, it is important that solo visitors are treated with the same respect and consideration as any other patron. Solo visitors also contribute to the success of the business and deserve an equally pleasant dining experience.
If you’re a solo visitor or tourist looking for a comfortable place to enjoy your lunch, I would recommend exploring other cafés that value and respect all their customers EQUALLY. ——— Clarification after the owner’s response: ——— Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that I always waited at the door to be seated and did not choose my own seating. Despite this, as a solo visitor, I felt unwelcome when asked to move in the middle of my dining, which significantly impacted my experience.
I understand the challenges you face with limited seating and appreciate your efforts to accommodate all guests. However, I believe that asking solo visitors to move during their meal is not a suitable solution. It disrupts the dining experience and makes one feel unwelcome.
While I appreciate that many guests are understanding, implying that I was not sweet and understanding feels dismissive. My intention in providing this feedback is to help improve the overall experience for solo visitors, not to criticize without cause.
I hope this feedback can contribute to positive changes for the benefit of all guests. —— New update —— Following my review and clarification, I received a new response from the cafe owner expressing their sincere apologies for the inconvenience I experienced. They have assured me that they are addressing the issue with their team to prevent similar situations in the future. I am encouraged by the owner’s proactive approach to addressing customer concerns. It demonstrates a genuine effort to make positive changes, which is commendable. Thank you for your attention to...
Read moreIf you're looking for a sweet little breakfast spot in the heart of Eindhoven Centrum, look no further than Meneer De Boer Breakfast! This charming restaurant specializes in breakfast, offering a delicious range of dishes that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning palates.
What's great about Meneer De Boer Breakfast is that it's open all day until 3pm, which means you can enjoy a hearty breakfast whenever you like. And it's no surprise that the restaurant is always full of customers, thanks to the excellent food and friendly service.
One of the standout features of Meneer De Boer Breakfast is the husband and wife team who run the place. They clearly know a thing or two about the horeca business, and it shows in the way they run their restaurant. They saw a gap in the market for a breakfast spot in an area with lots of hotels, and they seized the opportunity to provide a great service to locals and tourists alike.
During my visit to Meneer De Boer Breakfast, I had the pleasure of being served by Lisa, a wonderful waitress who went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. When I asked for my English breakfast without bacon, the kitchen staff happily substituted it with more hash browns and poached eggs. And I can't recommend the coffee and cakes enough - they're simply delicious!
One of the best things about Meneer De Boer Breakfast is the atmosphere and ambience. It's the perfect spot to hang out with friends over coffee and cakes, or to start your day with a delicious breakfast. The only downside is that during peak hours, the service from the kitchen can be a bit slow, but it's easy to understand why - they have a lot to deal with!
Generally speaking, I highly recommend Meneer De Boer Breakfast to anyone looking for a sweet and satisfying breakfast spot in Eindhoven Centrum. With its great food, friendly service, and charming atmosphere, it's a must-visit destination for locals and...
