The 1-star rating is not due to the quality or taste of the drinks. It’s because I got injured. On Saturday 26-01-2025 at the terrace area at around 01:15, I ordered a Pornstar Martini, which arrived in just five minutes—a great speed, especially during a busy Saturday. However, the glass had an obvious chip on the rim. The chip was not only large and clearly visible but also extremely sharp and dangerous.

Unfortunately, because the lighting wasn’t great, I didn’t notice the chipped glass right away. After a few sips, I realized my lip was bleeding from the sharp edge. I was cut. When I brought this to the waiter’s attention, explaining that I had been cut by the broken glass and requesting a replacement, his response was simply, “Yes.” Without apologizing or showing concern, he took the drink and brought me a new one. Even after seeing that my lip was cut and also mentioning that to him, he didn’t apologize or acknowledge the situation further at all. What if I had cut myself even more before I realised it?

As someone with experience working in various hospitality roles, both as a bartender and waiter, I can confidently say this is unacceptable. Serving a drink in a broken glass, resulting in a customer being injured, should never happen. And if it does, the situation must be handled with far more care and professionalism. No manager or supervisor came to apologise after the incident and the waiter could be easily described as impolite and uninterested. Just...

I recently started working in Eindhoven and wanted to grab a bite to eat and a drink after work to relax a little. When I came across Publiek I immediately received a warm welcome from one of the waiters called Joep. Once seated I received quick service and was always greeted by a smile from the other waiters as well! As I was feeling a bit adventurous I asked one of the staff (Filip I think) if they could make me a surprise drinks and let me tell you I was BLOWN away by their ingenuity and knowledge on how to make a great drink! I received a special Pornstar Martini that was coloured green and tasted heavenly! Besides the amazing drinks and hospitality the chicken burger I received was equally as delightful with its refreshing sauce and great bun and chicken quality. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back more often! The food was okay, but the service was worthless. When ordering our drinks, we were not asked if we wanted the menu. After requesting the menu once ourselves, we still did not receive it. The second time we actually got the menu. After ordering, we received the wrong order from a neighbouring customer. When paying, the waitress gave the terminal for paying by card and then walked away. Paying no attention to us if the payment actually processed. The waiters were more busy flirting with each other than paying attention to the customer.
