Happy Italy Groningen — Restaurant in Groningen

I don't know where to start. The reception was okay. First round of drinks aswell.

We ordered pizza and pasta for 6 people and had to wait between 30 and 45 minutes to receive anything. We had to ask the personnel (who were mostly hanging out at the bar, all together, with no eye for the customers) where it was and then they finally managed to give us our food.

The pasta was terribly overcooked, without taste, and the pizzas were bland and bad. How do you mess up a pizza that bad? The dough was okay but it was still a disappointment.

For desserts, I asked about the waffles they serve, and the waiter admitted to them not making their own waffles in house because they are delivered frozen and they just fix them up with some toppings. Upon hearing that I ordered the lemon cake and someone else in my group ordered tiramisu.

They did not take the plates away from our table in between servings because the students were too busy talking at the bar.

The tiramisu came in a plastic container??? And the lemon cake was way too sweet, only tasted like sugar, with spray can whipped cream. Are you guys really that lazy that you can't even make your own whipped cream and waffles in-house?

The prices are very low so I guess it all...

BAD SERVICE EXPERIENCE, NO APOLOGISE FROM THEM AS WELL. The food was great and came in a large portion. HOWEVER, one of the waitress treat us unbelievably mean. I don't know what's her problem with foreigners or just because I am younger. She SHOUTED at me and my friend when we paid the bill and were about to leave, just because I took a plastic bag that cost 0.05 euros. First of all, we didn't know it cost money, I ordered food to take away and they only gave me boxes without bags, so I was thinking I see the bags so I shouldn't bother them to take it for me. Secondly, I don't deserve to be shouted because I don't know it cost money and I am totally able to pay 0.05 euros. I told her that I could pay, I took my bank card out and I followed her, but then she was serving 3 desks of customers and ignoring me following her that makes me very embarrassed, I don't know why she is doing this to me and my friend, trying to ashamed us in the public. They way she treated at us is like she is treating us as...

For health reasons, I can't eat onion, so I asked for a pizza without onion. After a very long wait, our pizzas were brought out - mine had extra onion instead of no onion. Stuff like this can happen, and the waiter apologized before heading to the kitchen to have a new one made. Given the long wait for the first pizzas I expected this to take a while, but after half an hour there was still no pizza. We mentioned this to the staff and they said they would fix it, but nothing happened. Only after a second mention did they actually end up making another pizza, meaning my companions were long done eating while I was still waiting for my pizza. There was no apology, just a "that's better huh?" after they finally brought the pizza. Just before we left a manager came by and did apologize, but yeah...
