La Picoletta — Restaurant in Haarlem

Terrible customer service. We have been waiting too long and when we have complained they brought the food and they did not cut the pizza into slices and when we have asked the lady waitress said cut it yourself! She said we don’t cut pizzas here and we only cut them for children! She also said ( Cutting pizzas into slices might be in Macdonalds or something! ). She also said you guys were not patient although we have waited around 40 minutes for the food to arrive! We are Emirati Muslims visitors from Abu Dhabi and this was our worst experience in Netherlands ever. I am not sure if the lady was racist but she was serving other customers who came after us before us! We ended up paying for the food without eating it! Btw other people were standing to enter the restaurant ( As we were setting outside) and when they saw how she treated us they left and said that she was SO RUDE. If you are looking for a traditional, Italian pizzeria, this is the place. It is family run, and you get fresh, authentic, and delicious pizza and pasta. The owners and their staff are kind and thoughtful, and the service is great. We love to come back here again and again, and every time we are glad we did. We love the pizza tonno and a simple pizza funghi but also the pizza carpaccio is great! We enjoy their Lambrusco red. We tried calzone, pasta al forno and salami pizza - portions were generous, the dishes were fresh.

Few words about service: the guys were supe-friendly despite quite busy evening they had. Great attitude and VERY quick service. Also, the prices are surprisingly low for such high quality
