Petit Restaurant De Valk — Restaurant in Leiden

This place was a lucky find as we were not even supposed to be in Leiden that day! But so glad we found this place because we had probably one of the Best Bitterballens here! Also their French Fries were crispy and delicious. Other than that it's a perfect place by a water body and a historic windmill. Also a decent range of beers to choose from. Definitely a place to stop over when the weather is beautiful and enjoy the sights around. I only wish I had taken pictures but we were just having such a great time and enjoying the moment and food and drinks. We are definitely going to be back here everytime we stop...

Can’t understand all the positive reviews. This place is a trap to avoid. The food was really mediocre. But the worst part was the service. They came to the table to take the order after 30 minutes, then I waited 10 minutes to have a bottle of water and then other 20 minutes to have a cold salad (and it didn’t taste good). A great place to go when you are drunk or want to be noisy with genuine characters behind the bar who do not wash the glasses properly.
