Fatafit Maastricht — Restaurant in Maastricht

Last night, I ordered takeout from here and feel like I’ve been trying to solve the mystery of what went wrong since. I am a big fan of shawarma (especially the pickles!) so I was very excited to discover an authentic place here in Maastricht with such good reviews! I really wanted to like it but was unfortunately left confused and disappointed.

I ordered two chicken shawarmas and a side of fries, the prices were very good and the service was very friendly! However, when I got home and saw the food, I was confused to find that it was very different than the photos people have posted of the same order. It looked like it came from a completely different place and honestly seemed more like a slightly elevated wrap from the supermarket than restaurant takeout. It was just lettuce and chicken (which also seemed a bit unseasoned and pre-cooked/purchased from somewhere else) with a little bit of sauce and it was missing the pickles and the onions. I’ve posted a picture here so you can easily see what I mean and compare the quality & ingredients to past photos.

I will say the bread was definitely nice and the fries as well. I’m not really sure what went wrong here, and even double checked a few times to confirm I ordered what I thought I did. Not sure if this place is having some supply issues or financial troubles or maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but regardless the food was definitely not what it appeared to be in the past! That being said, there were some positives as I mentioned and the wrap tasted just okay, nothing terrible, but it was just not...

I promised myself to write the review after the first bite of shawerma. this is a solid, real, tasty, and perfect shawerma wrap. I see a lot the word shawerma in restaurants but it is never truly true! This shawerma from fatafit is wrapped in an original tasty brea, ingredients are perfect ( i would maybe add a tiny bit more of sauce) but overall, super nice! The fries are great and the tabouleh is heavenly! The delivery was very nice and I will certainly order a lot from this place! 10/10! Thank you for bringing good cuisine to this town!
