We have ordered food here before and it was ok however recently, we ordered online over thuisbezorgd and waited for over 2 hours for the food to arrive. It was friday which is why it was normal that it could take longer.after repeatedly checking the delivery tracker and it said for the last 30 minutes that it would be delivered shortly i called the restaurant. It was close to 11.30pm. A woman picked up being extremely rude, impatient unfriendly, annoyed, telling me it was my own fault, why I was only calling after 2.5 hours after my order. She also told me that she couldn't help me and that the restaurant was already closed. After her explaining to me that she could also not check her system for my order and that the restaurant was closed for a while, so that no food was going out, we hung up. I then checked Thuisbezorgd again and suddenly the order said: Enjoy your food - as if the food had been delivered. I called her again since I wanted to check as something must have happened for the system to assume that the order was delivered and she started being rude again telling me that she wanted to go to sleep and why i was calling her as she couldn't help me. I told her that i wanted to check if she had done something for thuisbezorgd to think that the order was delivered and she didn't even understand what i was talking about and honestly she did not give care about my missing order. I then told her that it was not my fault that she took the phone home apparently and didn't do it to do customer service apparently. Not only did we go hungry and had no food but got screamed at on top. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. I want my money back, ordered so much there in the past 2 months, but won't do it again after such...
Read moreGINGER is a great spot if you're looking to enjoy amazing modern Chinese food. We ordered the tuna tartare with avocado and the Peking duck as starters. The tartare was refreshing and sweet in flavour, perfectly balanced with a touch of chilli mayo and a couple of crackers. The seaweed salad on the side was good, though it could have used a little less sesame oil. The Peking duck was an excellent choice, served in wraps with vegetables and a sweet sauce. The duck was slightly chewy, but it complemented the overall texture experience. Both appetisers definitely made us hungry for more. For the main courses, we had the Tokyo stir-fried beef with homemade noodles and the Shanghai crispy sweet and sour prawns. The tender beef had an excellent balance of freshness and heat, and the noodles had the perfect chewy texture. The soybean sprouts added a nice crunch and rounded off the dish well. The prawns were fried nicely and coated in a sauce that was more sweet than sour, served with a simple but delicious fried rice. We were surprised by the completely raw celery, but the red bell pepper and apple pieces were fabulous and a perfect fit in the stir-fry. In both main courses, the protein portion could have been a bit more generous for the price. The two ladies serving us were very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxing, with tasteful background music. The food is definitely freshly prepared, but this can also mean a slightly longer wait time. They also offer a student menu from 12:00–14:00 and 21:00–22:00, with reduced prices and special dishes. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and perfect for a date night. We will definitely be back to try more dishes, and we would recommend everyone to...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant five or six times, and the friendly attitude of the owner along with some of their signature dishes have always been the reasons I kept coming back. But my most recent experience made me decide that I will never return again—because instead of feeling like a guest, I felt like someone who wasn’t welcome.
The owner has always been friendly, but unfortunately, it’s not him serving the customers—it’s two extremely arrogant and indifferent waitresses. Their stark difference in attitude toward different customers almost made me lose my appetite. For customers who order a lot and appear ‘wealthy,’ they are all smiles, warm, and welcoming. But if you’re dining alone and ordering a smaller meal, they make sure you experience what it means to be ‘ignored’ and ‘invisible.’
On top of that, this discriminatory attitude extends to race and skin color. Even though this is a Chinese restaurant, having an Eastern Asian face here seems almost inappropriate. The contrast between their cold indifference toward Eastern-Asian customers and their bright, enthusiastic smiles toward rich & white customers is sharper than the spiciest chili in this restaurant. I gave this place a three-star review solely because the owner is a nice person, but the service here is downright...
