Rumors — Restaurant in Maastricht

The food was decent, not something to be crazy about...the service though was very impolite. First, the waitress placed a wrong order and when we pointed out that one of the plates was wrong and asked if she could replace it with the right one, she kept insisting that the order was right. Anyway, long story short, she replaced the order. After a while, I asked for tap water and she stated that she cannot bring water unless I have order a drink (which we had , plus all the food ). I told her that this was not kind and that I needed it to take a pill. Then she said that if it's for a pill, then yes, she could bring me the tap water...this is a ridiculous way to treat a customer, no matter how big the order .. and even if the policy of the restaurant is this, she could have explained it...

Bad experience. Won't go again and won't recommend it to anyone. We were kindly asked to leave because we were drinking wine and cocktails and they wanted to use the tables for people to order food. So we had to buy food to be able to stay. We were told by the waitress that we can't split the bill/pay separately and have to sort it out amongst ourselves (in a very unfriendly tone). However, I went to the same place a few days before, and we were able to split the bill/pay separately. Our whole group agreed that this was an unpleasant experience and we have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. The food was ok. The atmosphere of the place quite nice. However, the service needs improvement. One of the two waitresses was very polite but the other one the exact opposite.

I don't think you need to justify the reason why you need a glass of water. She was so rude as to deny bringing one when asked kindly saying that you need to order a drink first (even though we had ordered a couple of drinks on our table). I have never heard of this policy before so maybe it's new to me. Eventually, she only brought one when we had to specify that this was necessary to swallow a pill for medical reasons.
