Spencer's Restaurant — Restaurant in Maastricht

First off, let me state that the location was absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant (and hotel) is set inside an old church, so the atmosphere is so uniquely different than most fine dining restaurants. The restaurant itself is kind of on a platform, so you are closer to the ceiling of the church so you can better spot the old fresco's on there. The food was delicious, I had a 3-course meal and was full by the end of it. They gave us plenty of bread to snack on between the courses, and the portion sizes were perfect. My favourite dish was the cheesecake with raspberry sorbet, absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a unique fine dining experience in Maastricht, I could not recommend this place more, it was so much fun to dine in...

Don't go when it is busy! The lobster was just lobster, no sauce, nothing to dip it in nothing. The red potatoes were were mushy and dry. We ordered a btl of white wine. Our wine glasses were empty for awhile. I filled our water glasses with water, emptying out the bottle of water, the waiter immediately came to ask if we wanted another bottle of water. I asked if we had ordered only a glass of wine or if we had ordered a btl. We had ordered a btl. Could we have more wine. Sure. He came and refilled our glasses of wine, there was still a least a couple inches of wine left in the btl, but we never saw the btl again. It was busy. Cant say enough good things about this place.

Ambiance – This restaurant is located in an old church. The way they have renovated the place, it seems that nothing is touching the original structure. You are just suspended in between. Very well done!

Service – Loved the attention to details. From the recommendations to the menu suggestions to the moving of furniture so we could take the perfect photos. Thanks!

Food – Great food elegantly served.

I will probably not be back, but will definitely recommend this hotel/restaurant to anyone looking for recommendations for places to visit in the Netherlands.
