Tldr at the bottom
I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to have some dim sum and their Chinese skills aren't that great. The menu has pictures and descriptions, so you will most likely know what you're going to get. From my experience all I had to do was write down the number of the menu items and then pass it to the waiters. You do have to be vocal to the waiters if you want anything like adding a drink or the bill after finishing the food like in most Chinese restaurants.
The food quality is pretty good and portions are rather sizable compared to most places that serve the same food items, but that only applies for a few dim sums. No need to worry about it being watered down Chinese food either.
Most people that are seasoned with the Chinese cuisine will most likely say it's alright, but I think this place is very accessible to most people since you don't have to enter a hotel or go into an elevator that goes up 3 floors which is a huge plus. It's also near Rotterdam Centraal so a lot of public transport running close to this place. Prices are alright for this area too.
Tldr: Good for people that aren't very familiar with Chinese food or Chinese, and it is accessible. Have to be vocal about what you want like every Chinese place. Not...
Read moreHORRIFIC! DON'T GO IF YOU LOVE FOOD. I don't think they are even worth 1 star.... We ordered different dishes various dim sums, loempia's, noodles, mapo tofu, rice dish etc. The loempia's were very oily and didn't have much ingredients inside. Some of the dim sums were so sticky you could hardly eat them and some were too dry... Both cases no flavour. The same for our main dishes NO FLAVOUR at all. Which is surprisingly for Chinese cuisine, something we normally love as we have lived there. Also the staff was very rushed and unfriendly. We kindly conveyed to them that the food didn't have any flavour but the manager was very defensive and not service minded whatsoever. Nothing was offered to us to make up for their lack of flavour. For both the ambiance of the restaurant and the prices you expect much more. The food, the atmosphere and the staff left a sour tast in our mouths. We left our food without finishing and left. It was a true waste of money and time. I recommend you not to eat here and find more authentic restaurants with better prices and...
Read moreFood is as good as usual. We have been eating at China town for many years. Every time we order a lot and enjoy it very much until last night. We understand the rule that we can’t make reservations, so we walked in, we presented there. I was waiting in the line for about 15 minutes, until the got the table. While I was writing food-numbers to order, I was asked if I could move the table and gave up the table(which I was sitting) to someone else first because my friends haven’t arrived yet. My friends and I usually do like this - when one arrives , can order food and eat. The rest will follow. I understand that the restaurant might be afraid that I will just come to reserve the table and my friends will be there late. But I was sitting only 5 minutes.
Because we ordered a lot and we need some break during our dinner (just to talk and catch up) The staff at the restaurant always got in and asked if we’re done.
We were disappointed because we loved eating there and we followed the rules, so we were expecting some...
