Kunsthalcafé — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Food is delicious and the cafe looks really nice, but the service and atmosphere ruin it. The waiters come to ask you for drinks when you've barely sat down, then they disappear once you're ready to order. You can see them often in groups chatting with each other not even looking at the floor. The runners cannot take orders or let you pay, and when you ask them those things they don't communicate it to the waiters, so you're left there hanging waiting to pay for ages, having to ask multiple times. Every museum needs a cafè, and for a museum cafè it’s proper: they have some food and snacks (overpriced of course, but that’s acceptable) and drinks. The service, though, is veeeeery slow. You might wait 15 minutes, 1 hour, days, weeks or months before meeting the eyes of a waiter. And because some exhibits only last 2-3 months you risk losing them while you wait for your cappuccino. Having seen so many grim reviews of the Cafe here at Kunsthal I was a little cautious but it was great. Super fast service, with very tasty food and no more expensive than a local cafe, but here quiet and comfortable.
