Update to below review: I gave one star based on the review below. I just noticed they provided feedback so decided to give it another go. The feedback provided seemed genuine as the portions were as I was used to. Including container it was slightly more than advertised and not 4-5 small pieces of chicken as I experienced. They same to be back to the standard I know. After not going there for a few months and ordering Korean chicken from another place I might go here again. Review changed to reflect last order (and previous times except the poor experience). Tasty chicken although it’s still not cheap ;-).
I come here weekly or every 2 weeks (probably already 10-15 times, 40-60 euro each time). It’s not cheap but always great chicken. After today I will not be coming back. Today there were about 4 smaller pieces of chicken in there. A lot less than previously. It should be 320 grammes but the orders were 260 and 270 grammes. After giving them a call they said it is 320 grammes frozen and unfrozen after preparation it is less. The amount I received is apparently the right amount and previously given too much (all 10-15 times apparently). Since it was already quite pricy I feel it is now extremely overpriced. 14 euros for 4-5 fairly small pieces of chicken is not worth it. Taste is amazing but I will not be coming back. Selling it as 320 grammes frozen and 260 grammes after it is fried is a bit of a scam. Even less chicken if you count the batter and sauce. They should put it on the menu as how you get it. Not before preparation if there is such a big difference. Such ashame as they have lose a quite...
Read moreHmmmm… the chicken flavor (we had soy garlic and spicy) is okay, but the drumsticks and wings are very small, not really Korean style. Also, price wise, its kind of expensive for 6 pieces. If you’re eating chicken, you kind of want the whole experience and try 치맥 (chimaek, chicken and beer) but they didn’t have a permit yet to sell and make you consume beer inside, so it was either consume it outside or don’t order alcohol, which was disappointing. Lastly, the pickled radish was bland and the kimchi was nothing like kimchi. Even store bought kimchi would have tasted more like kimchi than this one. I’m not picky with food and eat everything (even ate bugs in thailand), but this kimchi didn’t taste good. It either needs more fermenting or it could have been too old. I think this place could be good, but needs some time to gather feedback and focus on...
Read moreFYI you can’t drink any alcoholic beverages here, they only have very sweet sugary sodas available for dine in, beer is to go only, not allowed to consume on premise despite them having 6 indoor tables and 4 outdoor picnic tables, must be a business license issue. I expected more for the price overall, 8 euro for very droopy not crispy at all sweet potato fries, the handful of wings for 14 euro were uncomfortably spicy, and I identify as a self proclaimed LOVER of spicy intense flavors, but it was far too much. This place is not run by Koreans, and the flavors are missing the complexities standard in Korean cuisine, just cheap tricks of extreme spice to make up for lack of flavor. A place such as Sojubar in Rotterdam does a far far better job at getting Korean spice wings correct, this place sadly...
