I'm so upset that I'm taking valuable time to write this. It’s because of the manager from the Kitchen, upstairs restaurant at the Bijenkorf. A bald, tall, heavy man, whom I do not know the name of. I have no clue why he’s in hospitality or a chosen restaurateur for the Bijenkorf brand, as his rudeness is a repellent for the most loyal of Bijenkorf customers, like my family. I’d say he has racist undertones, but I think he’s just a rude person. Today, October 4th, my dad and I visited the restaurant for coffee and chocolate cake. As I went to the restrooms, by dad was waiting for me. Upon returning I saw my dad walking out, visibly distressed. I asked him, what happened and he said, let’s leave it’s that rude manager again. He had circled around my dad twice and rudely said, are you going to order anything? I asked my dad, could he have meant it kindly, to assist you? My dad insisted, it was both the harsh tone and the fact he was not a waiter, but this was a self serve establishment. We decided to visit customer care, because this was the second time he has done this to us. A few months ago, we had ordered five dishes and drinks. After we finished we cleaned the table of the dishes as one is supposed to do, and the manager passed by en empty table. Again the same rude tone, are you going to order anything? I showed him the receipt, and without a change of tone or apology he said he had the right to ask, because you cannot just sit around without ordering anything. Well firstly, you had that wrong, and secondly, who wants to sit around your negative attitude anyway. Perhaps it’s why the restaurant has not been as busy as it used to be. This happened just two days after we had a big order at the restaurant, which I tried to post the bank deduction of, but is not allowed by google. If management needs to see it, I can provide it privately. Regardless, I don’t think this is what Bijenkorf intends when it comes to service, because other colleagues are kind and helpful. If this guy doesn’t change his ways, or get fired, I will not spend another cent to...
Read moreAvoid. Just avoid. No customer service, no responsibility for their service personnel. I would not purchase anything of significant value. No responses from their customer service either, so I consider their practices unethical as well. It is a different matter to disregard claims but completely ignore while telling you are going to solve the issue is another thing.
Few weeks ago, I was shopping here and I was purchasing cosmetics which you cannot pick yourself. The customer service personnel was in a hurry to get the purchase, juggling two different customers and actually gave me a wrong product. Again, a product that I cannot get from the self by myself. Later that evening, after applying the product, I noticed that dang, this looks different that I chose. And it was. Quite annoying situation from a customer's viewpoint as you cannot access the product by yourself. The situation could be also viewed from the cameras that in fact, I did not receive the correct product. But no, almost complete ignorance. And I'm from a different country so I cannot even resolve the matter by myself.
I am happy that I just bought an expensive lipgloss. I would be so angry if I would have purchased something of significant value. Based on my experience, I would not recommend anyone to buy anything. Buy from a store that actually cares for its customers.
In the image you can actually see what has happened in few weeks, technically nothing. I hope that De Bijenkorf actually reaches out to me to fulfill their promises..
Edit. 13/6/2025. Again such a joke their answer. No email address provided and they cannot find my info from one of their official channels even though there are time stamps in the pictures. Their answer doesn't show me any interest that they would actually like to...
