Goed Volck. — Restaurant in The Hague

warmly greeted and seated quickly. we were the only table inside, with everyone else outside since it was a nice day, but overall it was quite empty.

starters arrived in good time, but a soup was forgotten. we waited about 20 minutes for it to arrive, but it didn't so we asked for it. it was brought out quickly after, but wasn't warm and had very few shrimp in it.

then we waited 45 more minutes and had to ask where our mains were. no one had checked in with us or checked on our meals. and once we had brought it up, the staff's mood chilled noticeably. when our meals did come 10-15 mins after asking, the portions were unfortunately meager and the flavor was lacking.

we didn't stay for dessert.

never heard an apology for the extended wait, but they kindly took our second (last) round of drinks and the soup off the bill without us asking for it.

taking 1hr 20m to get mains to a table of 4 when the restaurant is nearly empty is unreasonable. it would've been more tolerable if the wait staff checked in with us and...

We have had lunch here today and it was a delicious and fantastic experience all the way from the service to the food, drinks and desert. I had a Ceasar salad with beef and my wife with chicken. The presentation was very different and looked good, the taste was even better a perfect egg and bacon, buttery croutons and while of course i would almost say no ossenhaas they were well baked pieces of beef not chewy and very tasty. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. had the worst dish I have ever ate in a restaurant. Didn't look like any of the photos people posted. Had asparagus with ham. The asparagus was horrendously over cooked complete mush. Felt like a really bad school dinner. my friend liked her dish of steak. However noted in the bathroom there were flannels cut which looked like rags. Waiting staff were nice though. Hope restaurant takes this review on board as could do so...
