We went to this place for dinner and made a reservation for outdoor seating. When we arrived, everything went smoothly and we were quickly seated on the outside pontoon by the water. If the weather is good, we highly recommend getting an outdoor pontoon seat, as it has fantastic canal views and garlands of yellow overhead lights that make the whole place feel magical at night.
The staff were really nice and attentive. The English menu is available via QR code. They had homemade lemonade in different flavors — perfect if you're looking for something refreshing on a hot day.
We ordered the snack platter, Steak Bea, and the Bea Burger. For sides, we chose both regular fries and yam fries. They also brought us a basket of bread with truffle butter. The Bea Burger and truffle butter were definitely the stars of the show, but everything was delicious.
We also tried spicy ginger lemonade and basil & lime lemonade. We really liked the ginger one, while the basil & lime came off as a bit too sweet.
As a heads-up, on Sundays, the kitchen closes at 8:00 pm, so if you're planning to go for dinner, make sure to check the kitchen hours beforehand.

Read moreI came later in the evening to have coffee study and grab a bite. The service was awful from the start. My server took a very long time to come to my table after seating me. After I ordered I saw my drink on the counter for a good 5 minutes and he walked right past it so I opted to get up and grab it myself so that it didn’t get cold. It was not busy at all only 3 tables.
When a party next to me got up I started to see things in the corner of my eye while studying. MICE! This place is a nice infestation it’s horrendous I screamed. To top it off when I told the bartender he said it’s normal and that there’s nothing they can do about it. I could barely pay and leave due to how many mice were coming out and coming very close to my bags and my feet. It was horrifying. The chai I had wasn’t good I had to ask for more chai. Then I ordered chicken bites they gave me 4 small to medium sized chicken bites for 7.5 euros which were very tasty with the sauce but overpriced chicken nuggets.
Overall I warn you. If you’re okay with an infestation of mice and slow service then this is the...
Read moreWe visited Bar Bea on Sunday 19/11/2023. We were eating peacefully when a MOUSE appeared right next to our table. I pointed it out to the waitress and she calmly replied that it's normal, "it's because of the weather". She mentioned that they "close the holes and mice always find their way in". I wonder if these people have ever heard of pest control? Is it "normal" to have MICE where people eat (I don't want to think about what happens in the kitchen)? Is it even legal? Shouldn't the Dutch food safety board close this place due to poor hygiene? I would definetily NOT recommend a restaurant where MICE find their way in so easily and people consider...
