Publique — Restaurant in The Hague

Restaurant Publique is located at one of the most beautiful neighborhoods and city squares in the center of The Hague, 300 meters from the Peace Palace. The interior of the restaurant is a modern and elegant ambiance, while the exterior space matches the bordering stores. I visited Restaurant Publique on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty quite - 2 more tables served.

The service was exceptional. Waiters took time to explain the menu, answer any question and queried for the existence of allergies.

The Bib Gourmand menu was rather interesting, but there is room for improvement. Every dish was beautifully plated and food portions were ideal for a three-course menu. In terms of taste, I cannot say that I would love to try all dishes once more, especially the main courses. Nothing too special to amaze me and make me want to re-schedule a visit. I am not sure if this was intentional, since the restaurant offered a different menu for those who didn't want the Bib Gourmand choice and would like to taste "the very best of what they have to offer", according to the waiter.

We went here for Valentine’s Day, I was expecting a bit of a cozy decoration for the day but not even single hint despite the photo in advertisement. We booked for the 5-course dinner with half-glass wine pairing. The wines were undeniably good while the food was sub-par. I do not get these too contemporary overly exaggerated tiny portions that give you no pleasure at all. The entrees were average, the sauces were fantastic which saved the whole plate with rich flavor. But man, the main meat dish was a total disaster. They picked the worst cut of flesh but cooked with the best method. It was rare/medium-rare with the best pinky color but the meat itself was zero-fat which turned into a completely bland piece of rubber after cooked. I chewed a piece 76 times (yes, I counted) before giving up and slowly removing it from my mouth. The pomegranate dessert was the best part of our dining experience. After paying our 210 Euro bill for an unfulfilling dinner, we ended up having a cheeseburger at Mcdonalds before heading home. The staff is really friendly and helpful though :) No regrets but...

We had the pleasure of dining at PUBLIQUE restaurant recently and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant. The space is elegant and modern, yet also cozy and inviting. We were welcomed by very friendly and courteous staff.

The food was simply outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented, paired and bursting with flavor. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, everything was cooked to perfection and exceeded our expectations.

What truly set PUBLIQUE apart, however, was the staff. The service was impeccable, with each member of the team going above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful evening.

Overall, I can't recommend PUBLIQUE enough. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in The Hague. Five...
