We visited your restaurant as a group of 10–12 people for a team event and were pressured into accepting a fixed menu, with the excuse that it was easier for the kitchen. While we understand group logistics, the way it was handled was unfriendly and inflexible. The overall attitude, especially from the person who served us — likely the owner — was unwelcoming.
What’s worse is the follow-up comment made online, accusing us of “childish retaliation” and labeling us as “spoiled expats.” This kind of public response is not only unprofessional but also offensive. It’s disappointing to be spoken to like that, especially after we chose to stay quiet at first.
This message is not only accusatory and unprofessional — it’s openly hostile and xenophobic. Labeling an entire group as "typical spoiled expats" is offensive and unacceptable, especially coming from someone representing a business. A disagreement over service or experience can happen anywhere, but respectful dialogue is the foundation of good hospitality. Publicly shaming and insulting guests is not.
I hope you reflect on this and consider the importance of treating all customers with respect, regardless of where they come from or how they choose to...
Read moreWorst service in Utrecht? Came 2 weeks ago for lunch, thinking since the reviews are good that it is a safe bet. When we walked through the door the waiter looked at us and said “what? You want to eat?” He then sits us down and tells us that some things on the menu are not available, these conveniently being all the cheaper items from the lunch menu meaning we had to go for the pricier dishes if we wanted to eat anything. He then disappeared for around 10 minutes, then we could finally order. We went for the ANArol Adana and ANArol Dana wraps. These cost over €14 (edit: it was 12.50, still too much) and were very small, a little bland in taste, and definitely not filling even for lunch. We left hungry and not happy at all. Will definitely not come here again. It is sad because I heard good things about it from friends that have eaten here before, so maybe it is just a...
Read moreI live quite close to this place on the busy Voorstraat, but never checked it out because - at a glance - it looked like a ready-made, take-away spot, which isn't really my thing. Not long ago they did a concept change/upgrade, giving the small interior a real (and really nice) 'restaurant' vibe where you can sit and eat, and installing a wood-burning oven to cook their signature kebabs. I tried it out early last week and have eaten there TWICE more since then (once take-away, which they still do along with delivery). The food is absolutely awesome: deliciously tender + flavourful meat, beautiful accompanying sauces, and lots of very fresh vegetables. And all quite reasonably priced. My favourite, the chicken-thigh kebabs. They have good vegetarian options too. Oh, and the people who run the place and serve there are delightful. Highly...
