Bunk Restaurant Utrecht — Restaurant in Utrecht

I've spent a long time thinking about how to review this place - I think it is a cool place and I like what they've done but it was entirely inappropriate for my trip (a business trip) so it didn't work well for me. The atmosphere is fun and the refurbishment of the building is very cool. The staff are helpful and the room is small but provides all of the essentials so is fine for the price. The food is decent and reasonably priced. The main issue is that the rooms are not sound-proofed enough so you can't get to sleep until after midnight. And because it is better suited for people looking to enjoy the nightlife, you'll probably get woken up by other guests getting back in the early hours of the morning. So if you want to spend most of your time enjoying the town and can get up any time you want, this place is great. If you have to get up for the working day, it's not the place for you. Sadly that means I'll be looking to stay in the usual, boring chains next time I'm in...

We ordered various menu items I think the tajine and maghreb bowls are pretty good! But the rendang bowl and ramen were a bit of a disappointment...the ramen was Udon instead of ramen (tip for the restaurant to serve ramen instead of udon?) and the rendang dish was really little compared to the tajine and maghreb bowl. It came in a bowl but I think presentation wise it would be better to serve it on a plate instead of bowl.

The taco was tasty you do get alot of beef with the taco but maybe present the taco in a shell form (instead of flat on the plate) or divide it in two tacos so you can present it more nicely. The sushi was tasty but it was not a whole lot just a couple of pieces of sushi and a few dots of sauce.

The desserts the sacher cake was nice! So could definitely recommend that one ...the greek yoghurt was just plain and not really special so I would recommend to go for the cake or the ice creams...

Awful experience. Starters were fantastic, our food order for main courses was taken incorrectly and when we corrected them when the food was delivered, we were abruptly told "We can't keep up with you changing your orders. Now you're just going to have to wait.". When it came to paying the bill, we were again spoken down to and informed "We don't split bills. It's not the Dutch way.". We're a group of 10 nurses on an international study trip, we've split bills the entire time we've been here, so it's simply a restaurant policy, which we would have acknowledged if told prior to booking, and we would have chosen elsewhere. Several servers were lovely, but the attitude of who we assumed to be the manager was shocking, I've never experienced such poor service and disrespect when dining out before. Save your money and go elsewhere, where you will be welcomed instead of being made to feel like an...
