We recently visited Wok Agent Street Food and Drinks in Utrecht, drawn in by its promising pictures and central location. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations.
• Ambience: 4/5 The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, with modern decor and comfortable seating. Its location in the heart of the city makes it an easy and convenient spot to visit.
• Food: 2/5 The food was the biggest disappointment. It clearly consisted of thawed frozen ingredients and lacked any authentic Asian flavors. The dishes tasted bland and far from the fresh and vibrant flavors you’d expect from Asian street food.
• Service: 3/5 The service was average, with staff neither particularly attentive nor inattentive. While they managed the basics, there wasn’t much effort to enhance the dining experience.
• Price/Value: The prices are on the higher side, which might be acceptable given the convenient location and comfortable setup, but unfortunately, the low food quality makes it hard to justify.
Overall, while the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and central location, the food quality left us very disappointed. It felt far from authentic and not worth the price. We...
Read moreSince we saw lots of very positive reviews of this place we were really looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't as good as we had hoped. It was a very busy night, so I can understand it can take a little longer for your order to be served... However, we had to wait for about 45 minutes, which is a bit too much if you ask me. Then the food. I ordered the Indian chicken tandoori combo and my wife had the peking duck. My dish was ok, certainly not bad. The food had the classic tandoori taste so nothing wrong there, but at the same time also not super exciting or surprising. The peking duck was however quite disappointing. My wife said it consisted of bone and fat for the most part with hardly any meat. I tried two bites and came to the same conclusion... Mostly grease and hardly any meat. Not very good. We did mention this to the waiter but he said it was normal with this dish. I have had peking duck before where this wasn't the case, so I disagree. Maybe we were unlucky because this place gets great reviews for the most part, but unfortunately based on this experience, I cannot really...
Read moreI have waited for so long for this type of restaurant to pop out in Utrecht: a shared dining restaurant. I like the concept because when I go to a restaurant I tend to craving for several dishes from the menu, but it's almost impossible to do so because of you know... wallet restrictions and stuff. That's why Wok! is perfect for a type of person like me. I think asians are familiar with this type of concept, because that is what we do when we dim-sum on a Sunday afternoon with our family right? Anyways, I recommend the tornado mix, salmon tikka massala and the green curry chicken. All three of them are allright with a bowl of rice. They have ginger rice btw, which is amazing. Ask for them! I was a little bit disappointed with their ramen: not much more interesting than a package of instant ramen noodles. If you're an explorer try their durian ice-cream for dessert, because their reconstructed cheese-cake is not that...
