We had dinner here. Naturally they pushed drinks, and we ordered. When we need to take some medicine, we asked for a glass of water. They said no problem. Then it came with a glass bottle (like a vase) and two cups. We didn’t think too much about it. Later we tried to pay, it showed that it cost 3.5 euros for some “Vers Water”. We asked about it. They said that was “bottled” water. We just wanted some tap water to take some medicine(tap water is drinkable in this country). I think it’s common sense for restaurants to check with the consumer when they were about to open a “bottle” water. So I asked them to show me the bottle. Prove it that u didn’t just filled some tap water and passed it off to us and tried to make some extra. They couldn’t find ANY empty bottles in their trash. I asked them to show us where this charge item was listed on their menu. There’s none. So, basically they tried to charge us with “bottled” water with no bottle and no price tag for 3.5 euros. Which one is worse: the waitresses make that little that they have to pull schemes like this to get some extra or the owner is that shady that he/she forced the staff there to run a scheme like this to customers? You tell me. I’m guessing they are betting on tourists who won’t come back anyway when being hit by this kind of shady things. As for locals, now we know there’s a reason they are below 3.8. I would give 0 if I could. A word of advice: there are much better places around here that deserve your hard earned money and u can spare your intelligence from this...
Read moreService was nice, the food was a bit disappointing. We ordered the "tafeltje vol" in both the non- as the -vegatarion option. It came with the bloemkool risotto, pulled pork, the schelvis, knolselderij, burrata, aardpeer, fries, and the panna cotta.
The bloemkool risotto was pretty bland. Unfortunately, there was no salt on the table to make it to our liking. Fortunately, the pulled pork was plenty salty and went fine with the risotto. The schelvis, again, was pretty bland, so was the paprika sauce that came with it. On top of that, it was tiny. The knolselderij was okay. The burrata had a sandy texture and the flavour tasted a bit off. The pomegranate seeds were a nice touch though. The aardperen were weird. Two out of three were so hard you could barely get your fork in and the other one (which was really nice) was so tender that it fell off of your fork. The fries were probably the best part of the meal. The panna cotta left a really soapy aftertaste. Maybe they weren't covered up during cleaning? All in all, the meal was just not that nice and...
Read moreWe were glad we were able to find a table during these COVID-19 times. New to the city we thought this was a nice place, good audience, and we hoped good food as well. The service was correct, nice and attentive. We ordered a Cesar Salad. The order to the kitchen, however, didn't come through right. My table partner, who is a chef himself and knows the recipes, gets sick from runny eggyolk. They promised to make a hard boiled egg instead of the poached egg. Somewhere something went wrong because his Cesar salad came with two poached eggs. The service later apologized and offered to change it but my table partner thought he would be able to handle it, this time. The taste of the salad was not good. The dressing, that makes the Cesar Salad so tasteful, had no taste at all. The salad was not the correct salad. So all in all it was a very disappointing experience. Sad to say we decided not to recommend this restaurant but we did appreciate the...
