Café Tilt! — Restaurant in Utrecht

After I was threatened by the bartender to have "my face smashed" I will surely not come back there ever again.

So, more background. Last night I came to the bar with a bigger group of friends. We spent over 200 euros or so, and asked if we could split the bill, but the bartender (who is apparently also the manager) refused to do so in a very rude and uncompromising way. Basically he said "it's your problem". A couple of friends of mine then, on the way out wrote bad reviews of the place. The bartender then came over to my friend to intimidate her over the bad review. As I was sitting next by, I patted him on the shoulder and asked what was his problem. He accused me of being aggressive (please notice that he is at least 20 cm taller than me) and when I told him that he could be more polite with his costumers, he leaned over to me and told "if you ever come back here again, I will smash your face". And went away.

This man is absolutely unsuitable for his job, clearly has some anger issues and really doesn't know how to behave in a normal and respectful way...

Unbelievable. The manager here is aggressive and short tempered. Cool place, great jazz sessions but be aware if you want to pay separately - which might be legit if you are there with 5 friends and very different orders - the bartender with the man bun at the bar might be pissed and go nasty. Even on a relatively lazy Sunday afternoon and even if it’s a usual thing here in the Netherlands - or anywhere else in the world AND even if we paid the same way, the same place on a busy night.
