Been here twice. Had a better experience 6 weeks ago than today.
While the food is of good quality, it falls down in the execution. You can tell it is a fledgling business.
While she was filling the burritos she had to go back Into the kitchen twice to refill the containers(this also happened the first time we came in). While she did that, our food was abandoned on the side. This is understandable when it is busy but we were literally the only 2 customers in the restaurant so the food should have been already replenished and ready to serve. It's also kind of annoying when they just disappear off out the back without saying or letting the customer know that you are popping out to get some fresh ingredients, where is the customer service? Communication is key guys.
There was a tiny amount of black beans left, instead of going into the back a 3rd time she just separated what was left between the 2 burritos so we got about 1/2 a tbsp each. 🤔
The roll on the burritos was not good. In fact she actually RIPPED mine. I would rather she had of rectified this by re-rolling but she obviously didn't think it was an issue. The roll was very loose so it was impossible to eat the burrito the normal way, instead I had to use a wooden knife and fork on my ripped and loose burrito. Not the way I want to eat a burrito.
It is super expensive. We had 2 burritos 2 drinks and a loaded nachos (veggie) in other tex mex places, with a veggie 'meal' you receive the guacamole for free since you are not taking meat but we were also charged for the guac. (an extra 2 on top of 8.50E for nachos)!! What?! I'm almost certain we were incorrectly charged.
Not impressed at all. This could be a really nice restaurant but needs a lot of...
Read moreI only discovered this place recently, as it is situated slightly outside of centre and not along the walking routes for people in search of a meal. A friend knew of the place, but we mainly stumbled across because it was one of the first restaurants we found that had room for us after a recent restriction in lockdown measures made the city centre very crowded very suddenly. After this surprise discovery I have been back twice. The restaurant itself is rather simple (think gentrified fast food), but the food is great, (as far as I can judge) authentic and a great value for money. The menu is very flexible and includes many vegetarian and healthy options. This experience really helped me open up to Mexican cuisine, which turned out to be way more flavourful than the limited options I had encountered before in the...
Read moreGreat ambiance and service, but the food was disappointing
The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for dining with friends and having a good chat. The service was excellent—the waiter was incredibly attentive and polite, which left a great impression.
Unfortunately, the food fell short. I ordered a burrito, but it was overloaded with cilantro, to the point where it felt more like a "cilantro burrito." This overwhelmed the flavor and spoiled the overall dining experience.
Despite the lovely ambiance and outstanding service, the food didn’t meet my expectations, so I don’t...
