Le Mignon — Restaurant in Utrecht

The food is good, hearty french style food. It's definitely not fine dining which I guess is also not the intention. I liked eating here and likely will come again but some things could be improved. Firstly our appetizer was served before we finished our aperitif. There seemed to be a general issue with timing, with food coming quite quickly but the service on drinks being too slow. The waiter although very friendly was often leaving halfway through our order which meant we had to flag him down to complete it. Interesting experience. Am from out of town, and was keen to eat here. Made a reservation. Arrived 10 mins early. Was met with a shrug and told to go sit in the basement dining room. It smelt really funky down there, and the whole room was empty. Best kept secret of Utrecht. This is a jewel of a restaurant. Loved the food although not much choice, the choice you have is marvelous and am sure you will not regret it! The French Moroccan chef is the best chef in town or no in the Netherlands.
