I once ate here and the pizza was delicious and we were served by a nice young napolitain guy. Then we went there for the second time and encountered a very rude man (the owner) who has almost no English in a very touristic place and a student city. he was like that āno reservation? 1 hour, then go(showing his hand outside the restaurant). After a couple of months we decided to give a second chance and the same guy gave us another example of his rudeness deposit! There were 3 tables for 2 people and it was very narrow, we tried to sit a 4 person table which is at the very back of the restaurant and half of the table was placed in front of the supply boxes. So maximum 3 tiny people can able to sit there. He came, āduo of quatro?ā Meaning 2 or four person? We said two, āgo thereā showing a very narrow 2 person table!! We grab our Coates and bags and burst out of the restaurant! Never again šš» I donāt think heās Italian, the cook may be but such a rude guy running a restaurant, not enjoying his life and see people as cash not as guest cannot be Italian. He even does not have an Italian joy of cooking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSure, the pizza is good, but is anybody here going to talk about the horrible service?
We made a reservation for 11 people forĀ 19:00 and we had to wait for a table until 19:25. Since the place is so small, we had to wait outside, while it was freezing cold. We were given the only big table of the restaurant, but that's supposedĀ to fit 8 people, so some of us ended upĀ eating their pizzas on our laps. ThreeĀ peopleĀ asked for tap water, but they brought us bottled water instead. When we mentioned it and explained that according to the new regulations they were obliged to offer free tap water, they told us our group was too big for them to bring that much tapĀ water (woot?). When the bill came and we saw that they were charging ā¬2.50 per 0.5L bottle, we raised the issue again. The same waiter came up with a new excuse: you're not allowed to order tap water as your primary drink.
Pizzeria O'Panuozzo, bye! You're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreO'Panuozzo is hands down the best pizza restaurant in Utrecht. Italians who know what they're doing. This location on Voorstraat specifically is very cozy and cramped, which adds to the experience in my opinion. If you like a private dining experience this location is not for you. And they have a cute cat (which is important to note for people with allergies or fear of cats). It sits on your lap if it feels like it. Don't be saddened when the front has no space, there is some in the back as well.
The only thing I noticed is that with reservations it is sometimes confusing which place you'll end up at. I reserved once at Mariastraat and ended up at the one next to the station, after receiving this note on the day itself. I chose the one at Mariastraat on purpose (the atmosphere specifically) so it was a bit sad to see you cannot really trust your...
