Chocolaterie De Cacaoboom — Restaurant in Zaanstad

Seven of us visited Zaanse Schans from the States, and we were endlessly happy to have crossed the Zaan River to Chocolaterie De Cacaoboom. The owner (I believe her name is Annika) took us under her wing when we were slightly lost and tired. She pointed us to the best of the Belgian chocolates, allowed us to fill up our water bottles, and we even got to strum her guitar as we relaxed in the shop.

I walked to the place because I don't live very far and the smell of chocolate in the neighbourhood since morning motivated me to go to the area 😀 I think the smell is from a nearby chocolate factory. Didn't get any hot chocolate but did get some 60% dark chocolate and some cups as well. Very nice lady in the shop. As soon as you walk through the old front door into this den of coziness one finds themselves in a chocolate wonderland.

The richest and greatest bonbons and chocolates surround you and seduce you.

And if you let yourself be seduced, be ready to not be disappointed, these bonbons are amazing and the chocolates are equally great.

In summer they serve the most delicious ice cream to boot.
