4&20 Bakery — Restaurant in Ōrākei

I stopped by to grab some breakfast pastries since I was in the area. It is located across the road from New World, just off Remuera Road. I need up looking at their cold cuts section and also got some of the chorizo. I also ended up getting one of their sourdough loaves. The pastries were all quite nice. the pan au chocolate was quite bready though but still crunchy on the outside. The cinnamon roll was also nice. Lovely young woman at the front counter is the only reason I’m rating 2 stars instead of 1. May have been a bad day for the bakery but I paid $23 for a loaf of bread and a small container of hummus. I expected it to be the best bread and hummus I’ve ever tasted! But sadly, not even close. The bread was still slightly doughy and the HUMMUS wow... I’ve never tasted so much SALT. I made multiple people try it and no one could stomach it. Maybe it was a bad batch? Definitely won’t be going here again....

Located on Clonbern Road, Remuera next to the iconic Jack Lum's Fruit Shop. The food selection is of a high standard incomparable to anywhere within a 2km radius. Some of my favorites include the chicken/lettuce/avocado sandwiches, roasted garlic bread, quiche Lorraine, custard filled donuts, freshly squeezed juices and the staff. On offer are pre cooked meals and yummy pastries. I always make a point to visit this place at least once a week. Unfortunately closed on...
