Been going to the steakhouse for quite some time and tried all of their menu, here is what I can say: The place's atmosphere is really intimate but it works out great for small groups of friend's too. Service is upscale, however really friendly and attentive. At dinner time it features lovely entrées mostly to share. Top of the crown are the Wagyu steaks that can be shared like the T-Bone (1 kg). Although my personal favourite would be the Scotch Fillet aged in Beeswax. Don't miss out on the Wagyu burger either cause it's the best I have had in years. They tend to have interesting specials on a weekly basis and one of the best better priced international wine Cellars in New Zealand; Probably best wine options by the glass too. Then some tasty elegant cocktails to compliment beverages options ( I love their barrel aged negroni btw...) Too bad lunch is only available on Fridays and Saturdays cause they got a smaller menu that still includes wagyu steaks and also a new Supper hour (5-6pm on weekdays) with selected wines and beers for only $10, and a optional more kids friendly menu shows that you don't need to break the piggy bank in order to enjoy a good meal in here. Finally Sunday is roast day; It would make any Brit smile that includes your choice of meat + baked veggies + salad + mashed potatoes and a nice and crispy...
Read moreManzo, the partner diner to Spiga, swears just as good quality in its experience as the latter. It differs from Spiga however as an adept steakhouse with palatable aged wagyu and starter options.
One example of this is their T bone steak for instance, which we shared for three people and found the quantity to be just as rewarding as was the quality. Without any further additions to the portion it was still a gratifying choice at the forefront of steakhouses I have personally experienced in Auckland. Hence, I could not highly recommend more as a choice for multiple people.
What also impressed me were the starter options in the restaurant not too dissimilar of Spiga, such as the truffle grissini which I found very unique in flavour, and a worthwhile choice. In a restaurant of its price small meals like these are usually a great way to taste several different flavours without an over-bloated final price, and the options here do not disappoint. Overall Manzo did not fail to meet the expectations of its partner diner which upholds of the highest quality foods in Auckland, and perhaps New Zealand. The menu itself is a far more a modern style cuisine rather than its Italian counterpart but it makes use of that by implementing tastes you cannot find in the other. A phenomenal start for an upcoming star...
Read moreThe restaurant is fairly new, located in the back area of Remuera Road. There are a few other restaurants located in that area. The place is decently sized and we booked beforehand online, which was easy. We grabbed a few items to share but made sure to grab one of the steaks since it was a steakhouse. We started with the burrata, zucchini chips, and the tartare. All three were quite nice. For the mains, we got the wax-aged black origin scotch, market fish, and lamb cotolette with the truffle mac n cheese and broccolini as sides. The steak was cooked beautifully with a nice jus and bone marrow butter. The fish and the lamb were also cooked well and quite delicious. The truffle mac n cheese was very moreish. I was pleasantly surprised by the millefeuille dessert with licorice. It had some licorice flavour but it wasn't overpowering. The other desserts were quite nice including the special cannoli. What was also enjoyable was the dessert shot after the meal. It looked to be a house mix and was very tasty and easy to drink. I would easily come back just for that. It is a great place if you are looking to celebrate or just to go somewhere nice. The food is tasty and the atmosphere was...
