Hit and miss. If you order a ‘hit’, it’s yum. If not..
Wakame salad: A massive bowl of salad. Generous amounts of avocado, lots of variety in taste, textures and colours. A winner.
Chicken Bento: From ‘wow’ to ‘how’. How could they get this so wrong? 2 flaccid edamame beans. Just 2. It would be better to have none than just 2, especially when those 2 were as underwhelming as these 2.
The tempura and gyoza were over fried, over battered, flavourless & not worth eating, so I didn’t.
Rice. Way way way too much much.
On the plus side, there was a generous serving of chicken, which was tasty and tender (though my friend who had the salmon bento box complained of that being very dry) and my two pieces of sushi were nice.
The various ‘quick bites’ that my friends ordered as starters all got the thumbs up and the unagi rolls that were ordered as a main also received praise.
Service. We weren’t told until we’d been there for quite some time that everything was meant to be being ordered via QR codes which explained why other diners were being served faster than us. It would have been good to have known this from the start. But apart from that, the...
Read moreI never write reviews (good or bad), but I was pretty disappointed with Miku. Before the renovations, I would eat at Miku and it would be at the top of my list, now I probably wouldn't go back. The service and people are amazing very nice and friendly, much like the old owners, but that's about it.
The food wasn't very good. Although there is a new menu, it wasn't good. Portion sizes were very underwhelming, very very stingy, flavours were average, the chicken burger I purchased had tiny pieces of shredded chicken which was very disappointing. none of the food was enjoyable.
This review is purely for constructive feed back and I hope that in light of this, maybe new things can be implemented to see improvement.
Apologies for writing a bad review but this place was a go to and I am disappointed that I have to take it out of my cycle.
I hope customers still go and experience this place because they may have a very different experience
I would love to find out if the old owners have opened a new...
Read moreLast weekend I ordered salmon and avocado sushi it was possibly the best sushi I have had in Auckland although it did cost $24 for 8 pieces. I was not very impressed however with the cleanliness of the store. There was food on the seat, crumbs or left overs where you get the napkins and utensils from. And the leg of the tables looked really dirty. This has potential to be a nice spot however to pitch to the customers you need, you need to clean up the shop with this shop being in Mission Bay even more so. Also add photos of the products to your marketing, because people need to know why they are paying more for your sushi as opposed to someone else. Please also note that when a customer pays for food they are also paying for the dine in experience. Thank you for the complementary green tea and amazing sushi! It included extra moist seaweed on the side along with cucumber and ginger. It also had fish eggs on top of the...
