Hobson Indian Takeaway — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

It was too bad experience, not only one time but three times.

First time I saw Hobson Indian takeaway at Sandringh decided for Sunday morning breakfast. As opening timing is 10am we went there to 10:30 but tables were not set-up and one girl doing cleaning and she’s not bothered to take order after seeing us, she completed her cleaning and then came. we ordered 2 paratha it almost took 45-50 minutes to serve after reminding 3 times though there was no other guest/order there. she excused that they just opened that’s it took too much time.

I think if you are not ready to serve customer at mentioned time you need to mentioned later timings. And after waited for so long paratha was not as we had like HIT at city. Even that girl is not bothered to take feedback, still busy in setup.

Second time, we decided to order in advance avoid waiting there for 50 minutes as we were too hungry in dinner. So, I have ordered on my way for 2 paratha and asked to make sure it’ll be ready in 20 minutes and we reached after 25 minutes but as usual it was not ready. This time man was there on counter on phone and when we reached there. When we entered group of three ordering on counter as we reached and we ordered on phone before 30 minutes coming. After waited more 20-25 minutes, so total one hour they served our order and before that they served “group of three”. So, man on counter didn’t place our orders when I call him but he placed after we reached there. And even after waited for one hour paratha were not good in taste. We ordered two paratha they serve one first even forget to give curd & pickle with that they gave after we asked for that. They served second after we almost finished first and again not served curd & picked. Even feel ashamed to ask again & again. There was no stuffing of Paneer as we ordered for Paneer Paratha, it was only thick uncooked dough. It was pathetic.

As an Indian we love to eat indian food. So, after these two horrible experience I again ordered takeaway for same paratha today morning with all instructions and instructed not to repeat what happened last times. After calling three times they didn’t pick up he call but texted me for order(See screen shot). after that lady called me and repeated all instructions again. But this time again… paratha was burned 🥵, not eatable even no stuffing of paneer in any of paratha as I ordered Paneer & mix paratha. It was all waste of food

Such a awful experience and staff they have. Such a bad experience we had today and totally ruined our trip to Auckland from Hamilton. Front staff took wrong order and charged us wrong amount , secondly, Gobi Paratha was full of Chilly powder and when we went there to say she started screaming on us and showing attitude and telling us to leave the place and don’t come and bla bla bla .told her to make medium taste and she said this is medium for them ( to serve full of chilly) to customer without asking them . Phoned owner and was screaming and yelling on owner too . Who usually does that 😳😳😳. Didn’t want to refund neither offered us replacement. Thing was so simple but, she made it so much harder for us. Spoke to owner Megha was really nice over the phone and offered us refund which is good . Plus they don’t even have $20 in till to refund to customer ( I mean what’s the point if anyone is paying by cash and they don’t have a change to give ) 🤔🤔🤔

Have taken video of staff how she of yelling and behaving and screaming but, since Megha has refunded us I don’t want to put in public. But must say train your staff how to treat customers and expect the mistake of the food item is made hot without advising customer. Should have apologies and replaced.
