The KFC story began in 1896 in the Sander’s family kitchen. Harland Sanders was six, his father had just passed away and his mother was forced to go to work, leaving young Harland at home to look after his younger brother and sister and cook most of the family meals. The Colonel loved to cook and was always experimenting with various combinations of herbs and spices. And at the age of 40, he bought a motel and cafe at Corbin, Kentucky. It’s here that Harland cracked his recipe for the secret 11 herbs and spices, making his chicken a hit with everyone who tried it. He became so renowned for his herbs and spices that in 1935 the State Governor made him a Kentucky Colonel.
His popularity continued to grow until the early 50s when a new highway was planned, cutting straight through the town of Corbin where his beloved motel and cafe lived. After being forced to sell his business, the Colonel was flat broke and looking for a new lease on life. But as confident as he was in the quality of his chicken, and at the ripe old age of 65, he started travelling around the country spreading the so good word. And it worked. By 1964, Colonel Sanders had more than 600 outlets in both the US and Canada. He continued to be involved in the business until he unfortunately lost his battle with leukaemia in 1980 at the age of 90.
It’s not surprising that KFC has grown to become one of the world’s most loved food brands with a character like Colonel Sanders at the helm. Today, there are more than 9,000 KFC stores in 86 countries around the world. Not bad for a bloke who was once only...
Read moreYou would think with the renovations done to this restaurant that they would get their BEEP together, having to repeat myself at drive thru & the other person confirming my order and then find that the order is completely wrong when I get to the window!! Communication is key!
I requested specifically for a Large 3 pc quarter pack and my pieces were a drum, thigh and a RIB, twice they have given me 2/3 requested pieces, the 3rd piece was a WING!! I get to the window and the guy hands me the bag and its a REGULAR MEAL!!!! The coleslaw to the deluxe 3 pc quarter pack expires on 13/12/21 and I placed my order at drive thru on the 10/12/21, the coleslaw did not look fresh or appealing, it tasted sour and bitter, I took a spoonful and spat it out! DISGUSTING!
I visited them again today and requested for a Large 3 pc quarter pack with the same pieces and again I get a WING!! LIKE CRYING OUT LOUD if your other stores can always accommodate my order why can't you, the FRIES were STALE and POWDERY, not fresh at all and it tasted disgusting, I should have gone with my gut feeling and drove to Pt Chev, they have always got my order right and I have never complained as much as I have now, Royal Oak and Pt Chev are my top 2, its a further drive but I know I won't have any issues on communication and customer...

The positive review... the restaurant building is quite stylish. When we came in, the staff is cleaning up the tables and clearing mess by other patrons which was a huge plus. When we sat on our tables, it's clean. The toilet is fairly well kept, another plus for the management.
The negative review... it's for the management to consider.
When I order my food, I felt that I was rush to make my order even though I was the only customer in line. The staff handling the counter was impatient and the restaurant was almost empty. I really wonder what is the rush?
After I got my order, my bread was crush and the fries were soft. The soft roll bread was crush because the staff did not use proper cutlery to take out the bread from the plastic bag, rather she tore it with her hand. Even though she did it without touching our bread... it's deformed... if this is how the management has trained her to use this method in serving the customers, the management should seriously consider changes.
The chicken though is smaller than usual, when we got it, it was not hot and it seems to have seated in counter for quite a while. It is greasy and the skin no longer is crunchy, and indeed I need to lick the oil off my fingers... not finger licking good......
